Tom Hanks To Be Honored For ‘Sully’ At Hollywood Film Awards

Tom Hanks will receive the Hollywood Actors Award at the 20th annual Hollywood Film Awards next month, producer dick clark productions said today. Two-time Oscar winner will be feted for his role as hero pilot Chesley “Sully” Sullenberger in Clint Eastwood’s film Sully.

“Tom Hanks delivered another amazing performance in a career filled with amazing performances,” dcp CEO Allen Shapiro said. “We are thrilled to honor him.”

Hanks, who won back-to-back Oscars for Philadelphia and Forrest Gump and has five career Best Actor noms, also starred in this year’s A Hologram for the King and 2015’s Bridge of Spies and Ithaca. He will be onscreen October 28 reprising his Robert Langdon character in Inferno, Ron Howard’s latest adaptation of Da Vinci Code author Dan Brown’s novels.

The Late Late Show‘s James Corden will host the ceremony on November 6 at the Beverly Hilton. The Hollywood Film Awards honors some of the most acclaimed films and actors, as well as artists in cinematography, visual effects, film composing, costume design, editing, production design, sound and makeup & hairstyling.
