Would you believe it if we told you that Tom Hanks is an actual relative of the real Fred Rogers? Well, it turns out, it's true! The actor is playing the role of the now-deceased TV icon in the film," A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood"—now he's recently discovered that he's related to Mr. Rogers himself! The resemblance between the two men is uncanny! The film will hit theaters this Friday, Nov. 22.

Access spoke to Hanks before the film screening in New York, and discovered that Hanks and Rogers were sixth cousins! How ironic is that?

How Mr. Rogers Changed Tom Hanks Life

Access displayed a chart from Ancestry.com and it clearly displays that he's related to Mr. Rogers. His wife, Rita Wilson, 63 couldn't believe it.

"No, impossible," Hanks' wife Rita Wilson quickly said. "No, you're pulling our leg."

"It all just comes together, you see," Hanks joked with Access Hollywood. "I would like to see if Johnny Depp is related to Fred Rogers. Can you find out from Ancestry.com?"

Hanks, 63 revealed how the role has changed his life and made the relationship with his wife better.

"When my wife and I are going at it on those rare occasions, when she is letting me know that I'm not really listening to her and I'm trying to establish what the ground rules are (for the argument), when we're going at it like that, one of us will say, 'Well, you know what? You know what, honey? It's good to talk. It's good to say the things we feel,'" he told ET.

He also said he learned that from Mr. Rogers.

Who Was Fred Rogers?

Fred Rogers was a minister and a TV icon that hosted the pre-school children's television series, "Mr. Rogers Neighborhood" which ran from 1968-2001. The program was critically acclaimed for focusing on children’s emotional and physical concerns, such as death, sibling rivalry, school enrollment, and divorce.

He was famous for wearing that 'red sweater' on the show. Fans have said that Tom Hanks would be perfect to play the role of Rogers, and now that they're related it all makes perfect sense!

Fred Rogers died of stomach cancer on February 27, 2003.

"Fred Rogers and Tom Hanks are sixth cousins sharing the same 5x great-grandfather ... who immigrated from Germany to America in the 18th century," Ancestry spokeswoman Keri Madonna told CNN on Tuesday.

Not A Coincidence That Tom Hanks and Fred Rogers Are Related

I feel it was planned that Tom Hanks assumed the role of Fred Rogers. Why? Perhaps the elites knew before it was announced in the media. then they pretend they didn't know Hanks had family ties to Fred Rogers. That's usually the way it works! Even though Hanks had no idea he was related to Rogers, there are similarities between them.
