Hollywood icon Tom Cruise has set tongues wagging as he was spotted being cozy and affectionate with a 36-year-old Russian socialite, Elsina Khayrova.

Cruise's alleged romance with Khayrova is his first public romance in years since his split from his third wife, Katie Holmes, although speculations were rife about a budding relationship with Shakira, and Hayley Atwell. The duo was spotted at an exclusive party in London's Mayfair.

The legendary star of the "Mission Impossible" film franchise has been notoriously private about his personal life. However, a recent outing at a London event suggests he might not be single after he was seen cozying up to the Russian beauty.

A guest at the Mayfair party reported seeing Cruise and Khayrova engaged in animated conversations and exchanging affectionate gestures, sparking speculation about the nature of their relationship.

"They were inseparable, clearly a couple," the source who was present at the event told the Daily Mail. "He seemed to be besotted with her."

Cruise and Khayrova reportedly turned up for the event in each other's company at about 9 pm on Saturday, leaving many guests surprised. The actor was "very friendly" and "polite" as he declined several guests' requests for pictures.

"He spent most of the night dancing with Ms Khayrova, but at one point he was just throwing himself around in the middle of a group of women," the party insider added.

Khayrova donned a strapless black dress with a diamanté bow for the party in Grosvenor Square and even posed for pictures with Avramenko Aliena, a former Miss Europe contestant, before going to dance with Cruise. They reportedly left the event together in the early hours.

He has not been linked publicly to anyone since his divorce from Holmes about 15 years ago, however, speculations were rife about a budding romance with Shakira, as well as his "Mission: Impossible" co-star Hayley Atwell.

According to the Daily Mail, Cruise's date is a 36-year-old Russian socialite and a British citizen who is said to be the former spouse of Russian diamond trader Dmitry Tsetkov. Khayrova and Tsetkov own lavish luxury properties, including a £22 million [$27.5 million] mansion in Surrey as well as houses in London, worth £18 million [$22.6 million], Dubai, and Cyprus.

Reports suggest that she has a penchant for luxury and was accused by her ex-husband of hiding substantial assets, including her £1 million [$1.2 million] handbag collection, during their headlining divorce proceedings.

She also appeared in court in 2022, when she was ordered to repay a debt of around £117,000 [$147K] to a company that assisted in the installation of fountains at her Surrey home. According to the news outlet, the former model defended herself by insisting that her estranged husband was responsible and on the "Kremlin's most-wanted list."

News of Cruise's budding romance with Khayrova comes after the "Top Gun" star reportedly embarks on a master plan to strengthen his relationship with his estranged teenage daughter, Suri, despite his high-profile divorce from her mom and his ex-wife, actress Katie Holmes.

According to a news outlet, the actor is said to be dedicated to rebuilding the father-daughter bond that has been strained in recent years because of his Scientology religion. His relationship with Suri was thrown into jeopardy after Holmes divorced him in 2012 over fears of the religion's impact on their child and their relationship in general.

"I'm sure his master plan is to wait until Suri gets older," former Scientologist Leah Remini shared, per Marca. "So that he can lure her into Scientology and away from her mother."

While Cruise might have been slow in the dating scene, his ex-wife Holmes has been linked romantically with other people since their divorce. Her latest romance was with 34-year-old singer Bobby Wooten III. The pair eventually separated after dating for a few months.
