In recent years, talk about Tom Brady‘s personal life has mostly been about his ex-wife Gisele Bündchen. Whether it’s why the two split up, or how they’ve moved on since their divorce, their split has undoubtedly taken over the media time and time again.

In Brady’s recent The Roast of Tom Brady on Netflix, however, comedian Nikki Glaser, who did mention Bündchen once, brought up another one of Brady’s relationships: his two-year relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan.

As a refresher, Brady and Moynahan dated for two years between 2004 and 2006 before calling it quits. After their split, however, the Blue Bloods star found out she was pregnant but Brady had already moved on with Bündchen. Moynahan then gave birth to their son John, aka Jack, in August 2007.

“Tom, you’re the best to ever play for too long, you retired then came back then retired, I get it … It’s hard to walk away from something that isn’t your pregnant girlfriend,” Glaser said, per Us Weekly. “To be fair he didn’t know, he just thought she was getting fat.”

And while we know that second statement isn’t true, after all even Moynahan herself had no idea she was expecting when they broke up, the joke definitely garnered some laughs in the crowd.

Actor Will Ferrell also brought up Moynahan in his roast, which was all done in his character Anchorman Ron Burgundy. “The last time this guy went truly deep, he ended up paying child support to Bridget Moynahan,” he said.

But, despite being the butt of a few jokes during the May 6 roast, Moynahan, Brady and Bündchen have been prime examples of what healthy co-parenting should look like since Jack was born. Bündchen and Brady went on to welcome their kids, Vivian and Benjamin, in 2012 and 2009, respectively.

“I think there are easier days than others but I think it’s amazing that the kids…they’re super smart children. They know what they can get away with,” Bündchen recently told Robin Robers on Impact x Nightline, per People.

“So I think it’s natural that [our houses] have different rules and then kids just adapt,” she continued. “And they’re going to try to do what they want. And I can only control what I do. And I think for me, now is really about the balance.” Kudos to them for powering through this anything-but-traditional situation!
