Tom Arnold Says He’ll Keep Doing ‘The Hunt for the Trump Tapes’ Until Trump ‘Resigns’
Tom Arnold is hunting for the “Trump tapes” and told reporters during the Television Critics Association press tour Thursday he’s not gonna stop doing so on his new Viceland series “until [Donald Trump] resigns.”
Viceland’s new series “The Hunt for the Trump Tapes with Tom Arnold,” will see Arnold doing some “citizen journalism” to find out the truth behind the rumored recordings of Donald Trump. It will begin with Arnold’s appearance on the “Howard Stern Show” and continues to follow the comedian as he meets with figures like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Penn Jillette, Judd Apatow and Rosie O’Donnell.
During the show’s panel at the TCA press tour, the comedian was asked by a reporter if he were to actually find the tapes in question, does he honestly think it “would have any impact at all on the 40 percent of people that continue to, regardless of what they see or hear have any change of their opinions about Trump?”

“Do you think this would actually move the needle in anyway or is it just sort of symbolic of something you wish existed, but know doesn’t?” a reporter questioned.
“I don’t give a s–t about the 40 percent,” Arnold said.
“Here’s the meaning [of the show]: Donald Trump — I’m going to do this until he resigns,” Arnold added. “He is a crazy person, he’s putting our country on the precipice of a war right now. Working on the show right now, with people that are much more talented and much more connected than I am — there are things going on right now that affect our world, that are scary, and I for some reason am in a position to do something and it is working and I’m going to continue to do this until that guy resigns and the world is a little bit safer. And it is going to happen.”

“And every day — if you pay attention to the news now, since Helsinki — big things are breaking about that knucklehead and it’s putting more pressure on him, and he’s acting even crazier,” Arnold continued. “And we’re getting closer and closer to him saying, ‘OK, everybody, you know what? I’m quitting and on my terms.’ And that is going to happen, OK? And this 40 percent? F–k them. OK? Seriously.”
“The Hunt for the Trump Tapes” will show the frenzy of attention surrounding Arnold’s surprise meeting with Trump lawyer Michael Cohen, which took place earlier this summer in New York. The series will also feature Arnold’s meetings with veteran journalists like “The New Yorker” writer Jane Mayer, “Russian Roulette” authors David Corn and Michael Isikoff and former New York Daily News columnist A.J. Benza.
Other notable figures include Trump’s former business associate Felix Sater and former White House Communications Director Anthony Scaramucci, as well as “The Apprentice” executive producer Mark Burnett, owner of the Miss Universe Pageant, Ari Emmanuel, American Media CEO David Pecker and TMZ’s Harvey Levin.
“The Hunt for the Trump Tapes with Tom Arnold” will premiere on Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 10:30 p.m. on Viceland.
