Tokischa and Sexyy Red Want You to Have Their Babies on New Single ‘Daddy’

On their first collaboration, “Daddy,” Tokischa and Sexyy Red want you to have their babies. Produced by Yeti Beats and El Guincho, the single finds the two fearless provocateurs bouncing between one another with a compelling offer: “Have my baby, latina mami/Yo soy tu daddy.”

In the accompanying artwork for the record, Sexyy Red plays companion to the disheveled persona Tokischa takes on. Underneath the scruffy facial hair and slick toupee is a Dominican dembow superstar. The forthcoming music video — which will premiere on Dec. 7 at Booby Trap on the River in Miami — will dig deeper into their comical adventures.

Promoting the single on Instagram, Tokischa shared a screenshot of a FaceTime call she placed to Sexyy Red while still in character. “I’m calling u Sexual Roja,” she captioned the story. “Wanna see ur T3t4sss.” The punctuation tongue emoji is the perfect summation of the raunchy collaboration.

“When I started making music, I said, ‘I’m going to be honest about what I’m living through.’ This is what art is: the sum of your experiences, what you’ve lived, your fantasies,” Tokischa told Rolling Stone last year about her raw creative approach.

Sexyy Red’s artistry functions in a similar way. It’s all about embracing the unhinged vulgarity that others might shy away from, not because she wants to see how far she can push the boundaries, but because it’s fun and she can. “I never let nobody knock me,” she told Rolling Stone earlier this year. “I do what I do.”
