It’s not over until it’s over — and for Courteney Cox and Johnny McDaid, it may not be over just yet. The couple, who called off their engagement in December, were spotted spending some quality time together in Malibu on Easter Sunday.

More significant, perhaps, was the fact that they were not alone! The former flames were joined by Cox’s 11-year-old daughter, Coco Arquette, whom she shares with ex-husband David Arquette. The trio looked like the postcard for a happy family as they hit up Sephora and soaked up the sun.

As a bit of backstory, Coco actually helped McDaid, 39, propose to her mom in June 2014, after the pair had been dating a mere six months, when he asked Coco for permission to marry her mom. “He gave her a little diamond ring and got on his knee,” Cox, 51, told Jimmy Kimmel soon after. “And she said, ‘Great! I’m going to camp tomorrow. Let’s do it right now!’”

This is the first time the former Cougar Town star and the Snow Patrol guitarist have been seen together since they ended their 17-month engagement, and while they weren’t holding hands or nuzzling each other, they certainly looked quite happy in each other’s presence.

Cox and Coco both sported strappy high heels for the shopping trip, while McDaid kept it casual in gray jeans, a gray T-shirt, and gray boots. Basically, he just wore gray. Cox toted a large bottle of water for sustenance. (It’s probably worth noting, however, that it was definitely not a Smartwater — the brand ubiquitously promoted by her BFF Jennifer Aniston. No word on what Jen thought of that.)

It would have been the first marriage for McDaid and the second for Cox, who divorced Arquette in 2013 after 13 years of marriage. To be fair, the jury’s still out on whether this Easter shopping trip signifies anything more than another set of friendly Hollywood exes, but based on their history — and how happy they looked — a rekindling of their romance doesn’t seem out of the question.
