Rock: In 1969, vocalist Eric Burdon left The Animals and producer Jerry Goldstein connected him with a group of musicians that would become the band War and collaborate with him on the 1970 album "Eric Burdon Declares 'War'" and the follow up "The Black-Man's Burdon." Burdon left and the band became War the following year.

War combined rock with Latin, funk, jazz, soul and R&B and became one of the biggest rock bands of the '70s with hit singles singles such as "Low Rider," "Why Can't We Be Friends?" "Slippin' Into Darkness," "The Cisco Kid" and "Summer."

Even though keyboardist Lonnie Jordan is the only original member of the band, War remains a prominent live band with a multigenerational audience. See for yourself on Friday and Saturday when the band performs at Morongo Casino Resort and Spa.
