For reality TV personality Todd Chrisley, family is everything.

The star of the USA Network reality series Chrisley Knows Best is the father of five children: Lindsie and Kyle Chrisley, whom he welcomed with his first wife, Teresa Terry, and Chase, Savannah and Grayson Chrisley, whom he shares with his current wife and costar, Julie Chrisley.

While the Chrisleys have had their fair share of controversies, the family patriarch continues to put fatherhood first. "It's always hard when you have uncomfortable, unfortunate situations occur in your life," the reality star told PEOPLE in 2014. "But the family is all good, we're all very blessed."

In June 2022, Todd and Julie were convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion. They faced up to 30 years in prison. The couple filed a joint motion for a new trial, but their sentencing eventually took place on Nov. 21, 2022. A federal judge sentenced Todd to 12 years in prison and 16 months probation, while Julie received seven years in prison and 16 months probation. The couple reported to prison on Jan. 17, 2023.

On an episode of their podcast, Chrisley Confessions, Todd and Julie shared that while the situation has taken a toll on their family, they're continuing to put up a united front.

"As a family, we are still united and standing firm in our positions and in our faith. We don't waiver in our faith," said Todd. "Now listen. Are we disappointed? Are we hurt? Yes, but we know that God has a purpose for everything."

Todd welcomed his first child, daughter Lindsie, with now ex-wife Teresa Terry. Lindsie was born on Sept. 17, 1989, in South Carolina, and graduated from Georgia State University with a degree in marketing in 2012. That same year, Lindsie married Will Campbell and the newlyweds welcomed a son, Jackson Campbell. The pair later announced their divorce in 2021.

Lindsie appeared in the first five seasons of Chrisley Knows Best but became estranged from the family after her father was accused of tax evasion and bank fraud. In 2021, Todd told PeopleTV's Reality Check that he believed Lindsie had been a "catalyst" for the investigation and alleged that she spread negative stories about the family through various media outlets.

Shortly after Lindsie announced her divorce, Todd told PeopleTV's Reality Check that though he didn't see reconciliation in their future, he wanted the best for his daughter.

"The hurt is still there," he admitted, "and I think the hurt will always be there. But I'm not looking to intrude in Lindsie's life. We're leading a very full life, and I wish nothing but the greatest joys and blessings for Lindsie and for Jackson."

In 2022, however, Todd and Lindsie reconciled amid Lindsie's divorce. The mom of one revealed on a June episode of her podcast, The Southern Tea, that she reconnected with her father after he posted a message of support following her split news.

In October 2022, the Chrisley family came together for the first time to discuss Lindsie's years-long estrangement. Lindsie joined Todd and Julie as well as sister Savannah to discuss the "family fight" that became "publicized" during an episode of PodcastOne's Chrisley Confessions podcast.

While Todd said he was never "prepared" for the estrangement, he also admitted it was "needed." "Because there's no way I'd be where I am today if I had not — really, if [Lindsie] had not forced the estrangement by leaving Chrisley Knows Best and cutting off communication," he shared.

The family patriarch recognized that saying he is "thankful and grateful for the estrangement" might "come across as being weird," but Lindsie agreed with her father's sentiments, saying she "would have" listened to her family more if she could go back.

On Nov. 21, 2022, hours after Lindsie's parents were sentenced for their bank fraud and tax evasion convictions, the former Chrisley Knows Best star shared that she was spending time with friends on her Instagram Story. "The best girlfriends, show up in the bad times with hugs and champagne," she captioned a clip of the gathering, setting the video to Bruno Mars' hit "Count on Me."

On Nov. 30, 2022, Lindsie opened up about the holiday season on her Southern Tea podcast, noting that her life won't feel the same as her family deals with the aftermath of her parents' sentencing.

"In my family, we've always done Christmas very big and it's always been a very exciting time of year," she said. "Our house was always decorated very magical, and my parents always were the best at Christmas. Obviously, with everything going on with my family, things look a lot different this year."

Kyle Chrisley is Todd's second child with ex-wife Teresa Terry and was born on Aug. 29, 1991, in South Carolina. While Kyle appeared in season 1 of Chrisley Knows Best, he was absent from subsequent seasons after he became estranged from his father.

Kyle is dad to 10-year-old daughter Chloe, who is under the care of Todd and Julie, and has regularly appeared on the reality show over the years. In April 2021, he married his fiancée Ashleigh Nelson in St. Augustine, Florida.

Although he had long been estranged from his father, Kyle spoke out after Todd and Julie were indicted on charges of tax evasion in 2019. Not only did he show his support for his father, but he walked back previous claims he made about Todd's financial situation, saying he had lied due to drug addiction.

"I can't take it back so I'm telling you now, with a clear mind, my mom and dad have done nothing wrong!" Kyle wrote in a Facebook post in which he also said he was no longer estranged from his father. "Today, I am sober. I am working, and I am at a good place in my life. I just want to fix what I've done wrong so that I am able to forgive myself."

In the 2021 season finale of Chrisley Knows Best, Todd received a call from Kyle, who wanted to meet up with his father.

"I was expecting Kyle to call because my mother said she had given him my number, but expecting someone to call and then someone actually calling is a whole different thing," Todd said in a confessional during the episode. "And I'm not going to lie, hearing Kyle's voice over the phone, it causes me to become very emotional."

After learning that his dad had been sentenced to 12 years in prison, Kyle shared a passage from the book of Matthew on his Instagram Story.

"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you," the Bible verses read. "Who do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?"

In December 2022, Chloe's mother, Angela Johnson spoke with TMZ about her plans to "go back to court and get Chloe back home."

Todd and Julie responded to Johnson's comments in a statement that read, "Todd and Julie are saddened by the unfortunate and misleading narrative currently being portrayed in the media regarding Chloe."

Jessica Doyle, the Chrisleys' family attorney told PEOPLE that Johnson's public statements are "simply not legally correct or even valid."

"I handled the formal adoption of Chloe by Todd and Julie Chrisley. Angela Johnson's parental rights were terminated when she voluntarily surrendered her parental rights to Todd and Julie Chrisley on March 24, 2017," explained Doyle. "She has had no contact with the minor child since 2015."

On March 13, 2023, Kyle was arrested for aggravated assault by the Smyrna Police Department in Tennessee. According to a press release obtained by PEOPLE, he got into a physical altercation with a supervisor at his place of employment — Penske Truck Rental — and allegedly brandished a "fixed blade."

The following day, Kyle "voluntarily appeared ... for booking procedures related to the active criminal warrant." He was then transported to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center and his bond was set at $3,000.

Chase Chrisley, 26

Chase Chrisley is Todd's oldest child with his wife Julie and was born on June 1, 1996, in South Carolina. He has appeared on the family's reality series Chrisley Knows Best and, beginning in 2019, starred in the spinoff series Growing Up Chrisley with his sister Savannah. In 2020, Chase launched his own line of luxury candles, the Chase Chrisley Collection.

Chase opened up about growing up in the spotlight while speaking to PEOPLE in 2020. "It definitely changed our lives entirely," he said. "It forced us to grow up fast. I know I've made my fair share of mistakes, and learning how to bounce back and just grow from each mistake, it's a little bit different because every time we screw up it's in the public eye."

In 2021, Chase briefly split from girlfriend Emmy Medders, but they seemingly got back together in April 2022 after Medders shared a photo of the couple on Instagram. Chase had previously contemplated proposing to Emmy during season 3 of Chrisley Knows Best after she told him that they would need to be engaged before she moved in with him. Chase even purchased a diamond engagement ring before mom Julie suggested the pair weren't quite ready for marriage just yet.

On Oct. 5, 2022, Chase proposed to Emmy at First Horizon Park in Nashville, Tennessee. The reality star rented out the 12,000-seat stadium and had 175,000 rose petals laid on the field in the shape of a heart.

"It was the perfect night," Chase, who presented Emmy with a 3.5-carat oval diamond ring, told PEOPLE. "There's no doubt I want to spend the rest of my life with Emmy. We can't wait to build a family together."

Shortly after his parents were sentenced to prison, Chase reshared a post on his Instagram Story about how loved ones can "unexpectedly be taken from you." The post told the story of a widower who encouraged his friend not to take any time with his wife for granted.

Chase directly addressed his parents' sentencing for the first time in December 2022 — roughly a month after Todd and Julie were found guilty of bank fraud and tax evasion.

"I don't owe the public an explanation. I don't need to explain how I feel to anybody, other than the people that I care about and that I love," he said on Savannah's podcast, Unlocked. "Obviously, what we have been going through is hell. It is a terrible, terrible situation. But I have to try and find the good, even in the darkest time."

Savannah Chrisley was born to Todd and Julie on Aug. 11, 1997, in Atlanta, Georgia. She moved to Nashville to attend Lipscomb University but later transferred to and graduated from Belmont University. In 2015, she was crowned Miss Tennessee Teen USA at age 17.

To celebrate her win, Todd shared a tribute to his daughter on social media, writing, "I am so proud of you for who you are and the young woman you are becoming, you were born with a double crown yet the Lord chose to crown you again, make him proud and the rest will follow. … With all my heart I love you."

Savannah has appeared on the family's reality series Chrisley Knows Best as well as the spinoff series, Growing Up Chrisley, with her brother Chase.

In 2019, Savannah got engaged to her boyfriend, professional hockey player Nic Kerdiles, but the pair ended their relationship in 2020. Todd later suggested to Savannah that the engagement ended because although Kerdiles is also in the public eye, he didn't understand what she deals with as a television personality.

"I said, 'Y'all met on social media. You had a blue checkmark, he had a blue checkmark. He was an athlete, you're on television,' " Todd recounted. "'Y'all put all your faith in that blue check mark because that meant both of you were verified, which meant there was no falsity going on ... And I said, 'Had you put as much faith in the word [of the Bible] and in God as you did that blue checkmark,' I said, 'Things may have ended differently.' "

Savannah has spoken out about her parents' legal challenges, sharing on Instagram that she is "grateful in a weird way" for the "storm" her family faced. "One thing I can say is that I am thankful for those around that choose to love and love hard…no matter how difficult it may be. ❤️" she wrote in June 2022.

During her October 2022 sit down with Todd, Julie and sister Lindsie, Todd revealed that he and Savannah had experienced "some estrangement" in the past. Despite any past issues, however, Savannah has vowed to "stand by my family and fight for justice" amid their ongoing legal troubles.

Following her parents' sentencing on Nov. 21, 2022, Savannah posted a quote by pastor Kimberly Jones, a.k.a. Real Talk Kim, on her Instagram Story that read: "Noah didn't stop building the ark to explain himself to everyone who doubted and hated on him. Keep building your ark. The rain will do the talking."

It's likely that Savannah will take custody of her brother Grayson and Chloe Chrisley — Kyle's daughter whom Todd and Julie adopted — while her parents fulfill their prison sentences.

"I have to be a positive role model for Chloe and Grayson," she said on her podcast, Unlocked. "No matter how hard it gets, I have to show up."

The reality star showed up for Grayson the night of his car accident in November 2022, which took place just days before the teen's parents were sentenced to prison.

"Y'all, when I tell you the whole front of his truck [was destroyed]. Like, every airbag deployed. It was bad," she said on her podcast. "When I saw it, literally my heart sank because, for anyone that knows, Grayson has always had a special place in my heart."

In the final days before Todd and Julie are to report to their respective prisons in Florida, Savannah said she has no plans to "move on" with her life.

"Until I know that they're going to be there, I can't get married. I can't have a kid. … [But I know] they're going to eventually one day get to be a part of it," she said on her podcast.

She went on to share that she's "grieving the loss of parents that are still alive."

"[It's] the hardest thing in the world," she said. "I feel like I've distanced myself to prepare for what's coming."

On Jan. 12, 2023, Savannah referenced her parents' prison sentences in an Instagram tribute marking her mom's 50th birthday. "I know this isn't the birthday we had imagined but I'll make it up to you," she wrote. "Unfortunately, we are one of many that the system has failed and I will continue to fight the good fight until we're all home together."

After Todd and Julie reported to prison a few days later, Savannah again posted support for her mom. She shared a photo of Julie smiling on her Instagram Story along with the caption, "Will forever fight for this smile ❤️ I love you mama."

On the Jan. 31, 2023, episode of her podcast Unlocked With Savannah Chrisley, the reality star spoke about raising her brother Grayson and niece Chloe as her parents serve time in prison. She talked about how "hard" it's been since her parents went to prison and talked about the difficulties of helping two kids "process what's been going on in our life."

"I don't feel adequate enough for this job," Savannah admitted. "I am not my mother, which I wish I was. Because she is the kindest, most loving, most amazing human being I've ever met. I always said if I could be half of her I would be okay. I guess in moments like these I realize I'm more like my mom than I realize because I'm getting through it. I find the strength to get through it and do it."

Savannah then explained that she sent her dad an email, writing about the challenges of stepping into the role of a parent.

She read his response out loud, saying, "I want you to give yourself some grace. Fall in love with the real Savannah, the one that I raised that radiates a room with her kindness and compassion. Not the one the world wants to see."

In February 2023, Savannah visited Todd in prison for the first time. She later told her podcast listeners that it gave her "so much hope and restored strength."

"This isn't the end," she said. "And I know that they're going through what they're going through for us to make a difference, for us to make a change. Because whether this appeal works or not, they're still coming out with a story."

Grayson Chrisley, 16

Grayson is Todd and Julie's youngest child and was born on May 16, 2006, in Georgia. As seen on his Instagram account, which is co-run by Grayson and his father, the 16-year-old loves playing sports, particularly baseball.

He played himself in the 2016 film Sharknado 4: The 4th Awakens and appeared in Chrisley Knows Best. However, it seems Grayson didn't enjoy his reality TV experience.

The youngest Chrisley child opened up about his dislike for his family's series on his sister Savannah's Unlocked podcast, admitting he'd never even seen an episode of the show. "I don't think it's interesting," he said.

He went on to say that he didn't "really have a choice" when it came to filming when he was younger. At first, Grayson said he "thought it was cool, but the cool wears off a little bit."

In a July 2022 episode of Todd and Julie Chrisley's podcast Chrisley Confessions, Todd opened up about Grayson's difficulty staying positive amid the family's legal battles.

"Grayson is the sweetest child and has the most tender heart," Todd said. "When you have someone that has a heart like Grayson in a world like where we live right now, you have to be very careful with someone that is that sensitive. Because the world doesn't care if his feelings are hurt."

In May 2022, Todd and Julie celebrated Grayson's 16th birthday on the first day of their federal trial. The proud parents shared tributes to their son on Instagram, with Todd writing, "this day 16 years ago was one of the greatest days of our lives."

Just days before his parents were sentenced to prison on Nov. 21, 2022, Grayson was involved in a serious car accident. The Metropolitan Nashville Police Department told PEOPLE that the teenager was injured after driving into the back of a stopped vehicle.

Todd shared additional details about the accident on his podcast, Chrisley Confessions.

"The highway patrol was there. Traffic was lined up for miles and miles. [Grayson's] car was totaled," he said. "I remember looking at Grayson on that stretcher in the back of that ambulance and him crying and the police stopping to talk to me before they took me to him, and all I could think of was thank you God because he is alive and crying."

In January 2023, after his parents reported to their respective prisons, Grayson had a breakdown.

"He's trying to process my parents and the situation that they're in and how that's not the image that he wants to have of them," Savannah said on her podcast, Unlocked. "Grayson is 16 years old, [and] there's so much growth going on with him right now. And it breaks my heart to know that my parents are missing out on that."
