Country singer Toby Keith revealed his battle with stomach cancer last summer, and now he's offering an update on his health.

"I feel pretty good," Keith, 62, told E! News in a new interview. "It's a little bit of a roller coaster. You get good days and, you know, you're up and down, up and [down]. It's always zero to 60 and 60 to zero, but I feel good today."

Keith was diagnosed with stomach cancer in the fall of 2021. "I've spent the last six months receiving chemo, radiation and surgery," he wrote on Instagram when he announced his diagnosis in July 2022. "So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover and relax. I am looking forward to spending this time with my family."

Last December, he shared another brief update. "It's pretty debilitating to have to go through all that, but as long as everything stays hunky-dory, then we'll look at something good in the future," the singer told CMT Hot 20 Countdown.

Keith received the Country Icon award at the first-ever People's Choice Country Awards on Thursday. Blake Shelton presented the singer with the honor.

"Bet y'all never thought you'd see me in skinny jeans," Keith joked at the beginning of his acceptance speech. He went on to thank God, his wife, his crew, and his fellow musicians for their support throughout the years. "Most of all, I want to thank the fans for still allowing us to do what we do. God bless y'all."

Keith also expressed gratitude for the award during his chat with E! News. "It's nice to recognize my 30-year career," he said. "It's pretty mind-boggling."
