TLC's Chilli Is a Grandma! Son Tron Austin and Wife Jeong Welcome Baby Girl: 'Dream Come True'

Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas is officially a grandma!

The TLC singer's son Tron Austin is a first-time dad after welcoming a baby girl with wife Jeong Ah Wang on Saturday, March 2. Austin shared a sweet photo of his newly minted family of three on his Instagram, posing with his wife and their newborn daughter in the hospital.

"On this day March 2nd, 2024 at 1:59pm 6.173 LBS/2.8kg an angel from heaven was born our beautiful daughter LUA婁娥) we are officially parents !!" the proud new father began his caption.

Sharing that his daughter came early, Austin noted that Wang had to have an emergency cesarean section.

"I am so beyond proud of her bravery and courage to do this so off guard we literally expected 3 more days but God always has his plan first ! Eternally grateful to say we have officially started our family!"

"This is a dream come true we started dating on September 22,2018 fast forward almost 6 years later we are married with our first child life’s journey has now truly begun!!! 👨‍👩‍👧✨❤️," Austin concluded.

The couple first shared their exciting baby news after a complicated fertility journey.

"WE ARE PREGNANT!! 👶🏻FINALLY WE CAN OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCE OUR DAUGHTER 🌙 LUNA WANG AUSTIN 🌙 will be here in March 2024!"

The musician praised his wife, expressing his pride and gratitude for her sacrifices after multiple medical procedures on their fertility journey, including two HSG procedures — an X-ray used to view the inside of the uterus and fallopian tubes, one egg retrieval, and one hysteroscopy that included the "removal of both tubes and scar tissue’s from hernia & appendicitis surgeries." He also revealed that the two experienced a miscarriage.

"I am in awe of your efforts and I am blessed and honored by Jesus himself to begin this journey with you," he added. "I love you so much you are going to be the best mother EVER ! We came a long way 5 years later we are married and expecting our first child. loyalty goes a long way ❤️‍🔥🥰."

Austin spoke about his hopes as a father when chatting with PEOPLE in April about Paramount+ series Family Legacy, where he talked about what it was like to grow up on the road with iconic R&B/hip-hop group TLC.

"We see the backstage, we see the costumes coming off of microphones and I don't think that people get to see that part, that we really appreciate our parents a lot for doing what they do and putting themselves on the line like that," he said.

"It's a very hard job and you can't be there all the time, even when you have kids, you have to keep going in this direction. As an aspiring father, I think of how I want to do similar with my kids," he said at the time.

"I want to make sure I'm there as much as possible, but that they also understand that daddy needs to do what daddy needs to do, and it doesn't change the love between us."
