There was only one final, first-class Titanic dinner April 14, 1912, the night before the luxurious ocean liner sunk. But 112 years later, guests are getting a second shot at indulging in the ship's historic, 10-course dinner April 17, after the first evening for a re-creation of that fateful, historic dinner sold out for April 16 at Valley's Edge Steak & Seafood.

Valley's Edge at MGM Northfield Park is paying historical homage to the dining opulence of the RMS Titanic by using the ship's menu and other historical references to re-create the first-class passengers' last dinner.

On April 17, guests will start their culinary voyage at 6:30 p.m. with replica boarding passes from actual Titanic passengers. They'll also be serenaded by a violinist and educated by a Titanic enthusiast.

Steakhouse Chef Lee Cooper came up with the special Titanic dinner last year after doing some research. Last year's event ran one evening in what was then Kosar's Wood-Fired Grill at Northfield Park.

"This is our second year of doing it, and by popular demand, we're actually doing it two days this time around," said MGM Northfield Park Executive Chef Chris Poplin.

"It's a commemorative dinner," he said. "We also take the extra step to pull up some brief facts about certain passengers and all that, so it really is kind of a learning experience of who was on the ship, who survived, who didn't. And then just kind of step back in history, if you will."

The restaurant will seat 80 each night. Courses range from Oysters a la Russe (Russian-style) and Chicken Lyonnaise to Beef Sirloin Forestiere and Roast Quail. Five classic adult beverages also will be interspersed among courses.

Of course, this event is nearly all about the historic, 10-course menu. So here it is.

Guests will first enjoy a Moet White Star Champagne, a reference to the White Star Line that operated the RMS Titanic. The first course will be an hors d'oeuvres sampler featuring Shrimp Baguette and Salmon Mousseline.

The second course will be Oysters a la Russe with Vodka Relish, served with Bordeaux Parallele 45 Paul Jaboulet Aine.

Third course is Cream of Barley Soup with Crème Fraiche and Chives.

Fourth course is Chicken Lyonnnaise with Green Pea and Carrot Rice Pilaf.

Fifth course is Roasted Beef Sirloin Forestiere (in mushroom wine sauce) with Herb-Roasted Fingerling Potatoes.

Sixth course is Punch Romaine, a rum-spiked, shaved-ice palate cleanser, or "intermezzo."

Seventh course is Roast Quail with Cold Asparagus Salad, Saffron Vinaigrette and Wilted Watercress, accompanied by an Apple Brandy Old Fashioned.

Eighth course is Pate De Foie Graswith Garlic Lavash (thin flatbread) and Shaved Celery.

Ninth course is French Vanilla Ice Cream with Chocolate Eclairs, accompanied by Brown Buttered Irish Coffee (with Irish whiskey).
