Tish Cyrus-Purcell says she would've been a "better parent" if she started smoking weed while her kids were still young.

The 56-year-old opened up about getting high during a recent episode of her "Sorry We're Stoned" podcast featuring guest Wiz Khalifa.

"I didn't smoke pot when I had kids. I didn't start smoking until I was, like, 46. And so I think I would've been a better parent if I would've smoked then," Cyrus-Purcell said. "I think I would've been like, I don't know, school projects, it would've felt more fun."

Brandi Cyrus, who co-hosts the podcast, also chimed in, saying that her mother would've been "much more tolerant" had she started smoking weed earlier.

Cyrus-Purcell explained that she usually takes a few puffs throughout the day, rather than smoke a whole joint in one go.

"My decision-making is so much better now that I smoke weed," Cyrus-Purcell said. "I do not by any means say that weed is for everyone, not at all. But for me personally, it has just been the best thing ever."

Cyrus-Purcell has three kids — Miley, Braison, and Noah — with her ex-husband, Billy Ray Cyrus. She also has two older children, Brandi and Trace, from a previous relationship, whom Billy Ray adopted upon their marriage. The pair divorced in 2022, and she married "Prison Break" star Dominic Purcell in 2023. Since the marriage, she has been hyphenating Cyrus with Purcell on Instagram.

During the podcast, Khalifa also weighed in on how smoking weed helped him become a more patient parent.

"I'm super chill when it comes to my son. I don't yell at him, I don't scream at him, but when I get stern, I get stern. That, that don't matter with the weed," the rapper said.

Khalifa added he doesn't have many rules for his son to follow as long as he does what he's supposed to.

"I'm big on just experiencing life, man. Like we have rules, I think my biggest rule is just like handle your business when it's time to," Khalifa said. "And whatever his little job is, whether it's participating in school, I'm like, you don't even have to do the best in school, but just as long as you participate."

Khalifa previously told Alex Cooper on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast that he goes to his son's parent-teacher meetings while stoned.

A representative for Cyrus-Purcell did not immediately respond to a request for comment sent outside regular business hours.
