Visible from Florida's Turnpike and a sign of the times in ever growing South Lake County, the founder of Crooked Can Brewing has plans to open what the founder calls "a 40,000-square-foot destination brewery and headquarters in Minneola."

Andy Sheeter, Crooked Can's founder, has shared that the new Minneola brew-topia will pour on the razzle dazzle for locals and tourists alike.

Along with its beer hall, the mega-brewpub will feature a stage, an outdoor beer garden and a food hall. Construction is expected to start some time in 2024.

According to a news report on WKMG-Ch. 6 The new facility will be nearly four times as large as the brewery’s flagship location in downtown Winter Garden, which has been a catalyst for the area’s growth and popularity.

“I think what I’m most excited about is seeing the look on people’s faces when they walk into this tap room,” Sheeter told Channel 6, describing the forthcoming Minneola location as Winter Garden's often packed-to-capacity venue.

“We’re creating a building on the inside that when people walk in, they’re just going to be blown away. It’s going to be really, really cool,” Sheeter added.

The new taproom plans what's been described in a company press statement as an industrial-chic design with ample seating, a large outdoor area for events and gatherings. What planners hope to be a hub of activity, the food hall will feature vendors selling elevated comfort food such as artisanal cheeses, gourmet burgers and international cuisine.

Sheeter said that he's confident that the Minneola Crooked Can will be bustling — especially considering the recent growth of Minneola. The population of the Orlando metro suburb has seen around a 16.6% jump in just the last few years, according to census data.

An interchange for the town was constructed at the turnpike a few years ago and will serve new residents moving into the recently completed Hills of Minneola residential community. The new Crooked Can will be built in an area that, when completed, will include a town center and Publix Super Market.

Theme park passholders and frequenters of Orlando's resorts already know the Crooked Can brand because it’s sold at Disney Springs, theme parks and recreational complexes.
