Tiny Beautiful Things Trailer: Kathryn Hahn Leads Hulu Miniseries

Hulu has released the full Tiny Beautiful Things trailer for the upcoming series adaptation of Cheryl Strayed’s non-fiction book, which is a collection of essays from her “Dear Sugar” advice column. The 8-episode limited drama will be available for streaming on April 7.

The video features Kathryn Hahn as Clare, a writer whose personal life is falling apart as she tries to mend her strained relationship with her husband and daughter. Despite this, she becomes an anonymous advice columnist which will allow her to recall significant memories from her childhood and grief over the death of her mother.

Tiny Beautiful Things is created and executive produced by Liz Tigelaar (Little Fires Everywhere), who is also set as the showrunner. The miniseries stars Kathryn Hahn (WandaVision), Sarah Pidgeon (The Wilds), Quentin Plair (The Good Lord Bird), and Tanzyn Crawford (Servant), with guest stars Owen Painter, Merritt Wever, Elizabeth Hinkler, and Michaela Watkins.

“When we first meet Clare, her marriage to her husband Danny is barely limping along; her teenage daughter, Rae, is pushing her away; and her once-promising writing career is non-existent,” reads the synopsis. “So when an old writing pal asks her to take over as the advice columnist Dear Sugar, she thinks she has no business giving anyone advice. After reluctantly taking on the mantle of Sugar however, Clare’s life unfurls in a complex fabric of memory, exploring her most pivotal moments from childhood through present day, and excavating the beauty, struggle, and humor in her unhealed wounds. Through Sugar, Clare forms a salve for her readers – and for herself – to show us that we are not beyond rescue, that our stories can ultimately save us. And, perhaps, bring us back home.”

The drama is executive produced by Hahn, Strayed, Reese Witherspoon, Laura Dern, Lauren Neustadter, Stacey Silverman, and Jayme Lemons. It hails from ABC Signature and Hello Sunshine.
