The unmistakable 30 Rock theme song is getting new life for charity.
Creator and star Tina Fey and her husband Jeff Richmond, a key member of the creative team who composed the music and directed multiple episodes, are teaming with nonprofit art studio Soundwaves Art Foundation as a fundraiser for the SAG-AFTRA Foundation. The duo autographed a limited edition set of canvases created from the actual sound waves of Richmond’s theme song.

Artist and Soundwaves founder Tim Wakefield created the pieces by running the song through a multimedia art process using layered snippets from the resulting sound wave images. He then collaborated with Fey and Richmond to color and distort the design into the final images.
The couple put their autographs on a limited edition of 100 prints and four one-of-a-kind original artworks from their home in Manhattan. Soundwaves Art is now offering the artwork for sale on its website. All profits will be donated to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation amid the current strike as a way to benefit the org’s Emergency Financial Assistance fund to help serve members who are in need during this time.
“Before I moved to the U.S., Tina Fey and 30 Rock were my favorite window into the American mainstream. I used to stay up late with my three boys, watching each episode and crying with laughter. To work with Tina and Jeff on these pieces has been so rewarding and the entire process was an absolute delight,” Wakefield said. “We are so grateful to both of them for donating their time and helping us fundraise for the wonderful work of the SAG-AFTRA Foundation.”
Soundwaves is a 501c3 art studio and philanthropic foundation that creates pieces of art from the sound waves of famous songs and moments by teaming with the talent behind those moments to autograph each piece. All profits are donated from the art sales. To date, the foundation has been donated more than $8.5 million to charities by working with more than 700 celebrities including Billie Eilish, Larry David, Jeff Bridges, David Beckham, Coldplay, Dolly Parton, Outkast, Lil Nas X, Pink, the Arctic Monkeys, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Andy Murray and Usain Bolt.
