Tina Fey, Robert Carlock land CBS pilot about retired athlete

The next Tina Fey and Robert Carlock production has a buyer. CBS gave the pair and writer Jack Burditt a pilot production commitment for a new unnamed comedy series, EW has learned.

Burditt’s script follows an athlete who can’t help but drive his friends and family up the wall when he unexpectedly retires.

Fey and Carlock are already a dynamic duo. They were two of the executive producers on NBC’s 30 Rock and were the creators of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt at Netflix.

Burditt wrote and executive produced both of those shows and also created Last Man Standing, which currently airs on CBS.

Fey’s old SNL running mate and frequent collaborator Amy Poehler has kept busy, too, nabbing a pilot production commitment from NBC for sitcom Dumb Prince
