Tina Fey and Maya Rudolph Reunite for a Variety Show Musical Medley on ‘Maya and Marty’

Variety shows often feel antiquated, but NBC is intent on breathing new life into the old format. Tina Fey and Maya Rudolph reunited on Maya and Marty, paying a lovely tribute to variety shows with a musical medley. The bit was reminiscent of their time together on SNL.

There were physical gags, such as awkwardly mounting stools that are way too high for them, and ’70s-style skinny microphones, which added to the ambiance. Impressive musical runs involved harmonies, song changes, and a couple impressions littered in. Rudolph even busted out her timeless Oprah Winfrey impression, involving a Weight Watchers promotion and a healthy obsession with bread.

Maya and Marty airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on NBC
