Timothee Chalamet Had Dinner With Kanye West and Things Got 'Surreal'

Five Courses Of Awesome

Earlier this year, actor Timothee Chalamet had dinner with Kid Cudi, which famously turned into a dinner with Pete Davidson and of course, Kanye West.

The internet nearly imploded when the news broke, but now we're getting more details about that night.

Serving Up the Goods

Chalamet appeared on "The Late Show With Jimmy Fallon" this week to dish on the dinner.

Chalamet was at first understandably excited to nosh with his idol, telling Fallon, "So Kid Cudi is my favorite artist ever, I wouldn't be acting without him. I wouldn't pursue this crazy career."

When Cudi invited him to dinner at Nobu, Chalamet says, "I did not know that was what I was walking into, which was awesome, but was surreal," he told Fallon.

So when Kanye and Kim Kardashian walked through the door, that's when it seemed like an "earthquake hit the restaurant," said Chalamet.

Chalamet Needed a Minute

The actor had to gather himself together to make it through the night, including escaping to the restroom to text his friends what was going down.

"Whenever I'm like trying to have a good time but I'm also like, 'am I coming off weird,' like right now," he told Fallon. Fallon deftly waved that away.

"I had to go to the bathroom and send a couple of texts," saying he "felt like a fraud."

His friends reminded him to man up and get back out there.

"They were like, 'Man, 16-year-old you would slap the sh*t out of you. Go back to the table,' " he recalls.

Absolutely No Chill

Chalamet was very aware of himself, and said that he was concerned he would come off to the others as too "weird."

He had a little cause to believe that. In March, 2018, when Cudi tagged Chalamet in his Twitter feed as a response to "who's your favorite artist right now," Chalamet couldn't contain himself then either, writing "UHMMM OKAY STRIKE ME THE F*CK DOWN."

Chalamet's fans were equally excited to read that, with one saying :"When your favorite artist says you're their favorite artist ! YOU DID THAT."

Davidson spoke with Fallon in April about their dinner, saying he paid for the meal for Cudi's birthday bash.

Davidson says the night got pricey and recalls:

"So they come by, and we're outside, right, and then Kanye goes, 'Let's get the special room in the back.' And I was like, 'oh no!' I was like, 'Yeah, all right! Cool! Sick!' So we're sitting in there, and I'm texting my touring agent, and I'm like, 'We gotta book more shows.' "
