Chalamet revealed that his mom called after he mistakenly said "Wonka" was her favorite movie of his.

Even the most famous leading men in Hollywood can't escape being scolded by their moms.

Oscar-nominated actor Timothée Chalamet revaled Tuesday on Good Morning America that his "amazing mom," actress Nicole Flender, recently called him to set him straight on one of the Wonka star's incorrect interview quotes about her.

"We have great moms in show business, that's the secret ingredient," Chalamet said on the talk show, before the camera cut to a live shot of his mother watching from the side of the set. Cohost Lara Spencer then asked about Chalamet's prior quote to PEOPLE, in which he said Flender's favorite movie of his was the upcoming Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory prequel — a statement he corrected on the air.

"I thought this was her favorite movie. She called me yesterday, she corrected me. She said Beautiful Boy was her favorite," Chalamet said with a laugh. "When she saw this, she did say, 'It's nice to see you smile.'"

In his PEOPLE interview, Chalamet also noted that his mom told him that he needed to perk up in his projects.

"I think she saw Bones and All and said, 'You gotta be happier in your movies!'" he said, referencing Luca Guadagnino's 2022 cannibal love story.

Wonka is in theaters Friday. Watch Chalamet and costar Calah Lane discuss their mothers on GMA in the video above.
