Timothée Chalamet is bringing Willy Wonka joy in a new trailer for Wonka.

The actor, 27, stars in the upcoming film, made by Paddington director Paul King and written by Simon Rich. Wonka is inspired by Roald Dahl’s 1964 children's book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

The new footage from the origin story shows Hugh Grant's Oompa-Loompa character singing and working with Chalamet's Wonka.

Chalamet will show off his singing and dancing skills in the new movie, which also stars Calah Lane, Olivia Colman, Keegan-Michael Key, Rowan Atkinson, Jim Carter, Matt Lucas and Sally Hawkins.

Speaking to PEOPLE in July, director King, 45, praised Chalamet’s talents.

"I think what's so remarkable about his performance is not only that he is funny and mischievous and quite mysterious, as well — just like the Willy Wonka that people will know — but also, he brings such heart to the role and he's a brilliant actor," he said.

"He's incredibly emotionally intelligent and can bring a great deal of emotional truth to the role," the director added.

King also said Chalamet is set to surprise some viewers with his singing and dancing abilities.

"It's really a tour de force for him there. He was rehearsing for months before we went to kind of that honing skills, which was a pleasure to watch,” King said.
