One of the biggest questions for those ringing in the New Year in Times Square is "How do you go to the bathroom in that massive crowd?"

One New York-goer is sharing his secret.

It's almost 2024 and, as usual, visitors are traveling to New York City to ring in the New Year in one of the biggest celebrations in the world. With the number of people who gather in Times Square, it is impossible to leave your spot and come back.

In years past, some visitors have shared their secrets to going about the bathroom issue, with some saying they basically dehydrate themselves, while others share they wear adult diapers.

This year, one traveler has a bit of a different approach.

The Times Square New Year’s Eve ball will rise to the top around 6 p.m. ET on Sunday. It won't begin its descent until one minute before the clock strikes midnight. For those who have ever watched the ball drop from Times Square, whether that be remotely or in person, you know that people get there hours before the big celebration kicks off in order to get the best spot.

Now, that is a long time to go without using the bathroom, so what do people do? One individual says he uses a woman's pad, used for menstrual cycles.

"If you leave, and you have to use the bathroom, that's a problem," the individual told photojournalist, Michal Blank, as they stood in a crowd of people in New York. "So, what do you do when you do with the bathroom?" Ms. Blank asked.

The visitor then pulled out a woman's pad, explaining, "So I have these pads, and you pee in these pads," he said as he held up the pink maxi pad. "You just put it in your underwear?" Ms. Blank, to which he confirmed, before explaining that once you use the pad, it just stays there. There is no need to swap it out.

"Who’s gonna tell him that’s for a light flow?" one user commented.

"It’s a pantry liner. I’m dead. It’ll hold 6 drops," another added.
