Soap Opera Beginnings

Like many actors, Justin got his start on a soap opera.

In 2002, he joined the cast of the NBC supernatural soap opera Passions in the role of Fox Crane. Justin's new job would be big for him professionally and personally.

On the set of the show, he met his first wife Lindsay Korman. The two married in 2004, and a few months later they welcomed their daughter Isabella.

Justin would stay with Passions until 2006 when he left to star on a primetime show.

CW Superhero

After leaving Passions, Justin scored his first big break when he landed the role of Green Arrow on the CW series Smallville.

Hartley joined the show during the third season and he was originally supposed to be a recurring character, but eventually became a series regular.

Hartley grew a new fanbase with comic book fans, who loved his portrayal of the superhero.

Justin remained with the show until it's cancellation in 2012. Afterward, he landed gigs on other television shows, yet nothing matched the success he had on Smallville.

Return to soap operas

In November 2014, Justin returned to his roots when he joined the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless.

Justin played the role of Adam Newman, the youngest son of Victor Newman. It took time for fans to adjust to Hartley in the role, but he quickly won them over.

Hartley earned praise from fans and critics for his performance. He was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in 2016.

Despite being a hit on the soap opera, Hartley left the show in 2016 to play the role that would earn him fame and fortune.

In the fall of 2016, Justin's career would take off thanks to This Is Us.

The NBC series follows the lives of the Pearson family as they deal with struggles in their lives. The show became an instant hit and made Justin a star.

Thanks to his newfound success Justin is earning $250,000 per episode. Not only is he earning big bucks, but he's also earned recognition for his work. He and the cast won a SAG Award for Outstanding Ensemble.
