After the turkey and football, there's one thing on many Americans' minds every Thanksgiving: Black Friday.
The annual shopping holiday is observed each year on the Friday after Thanksgiving and promises discounts at many big chain stores.
In recent years, more and more stores have started offering Black Friday deals earlier in the month, and continue those discounts online for Cyber Monday. Still, many shoppers enjoy the tradition of hitting up stores in-person early on Friday morning.
When is Black Friday?
Black Friday is observed the Friday after Thanksgiving. This year, its lands on Nov. 24.
When does Black Friday start?
Here's a roundup of Black Friday opening hours for popular stores.
Target Black Friday hours
Hours: Closed on Thanksgiving. Opens Black Friday at 6 a.m.
Target's Black Friday deals have been running since Nov. 19, both in stores and online.
Walmart Black Friday hours
Hours: Closed on Thanksgiving. Opens Black Friday at 6 a.m.
Walmart starts offering Black Friday deals online on Tuesday at 3 p.m. ET. Walmart Plus members get early access at noon ET. Deals start in-store on Black Friday at 6 a.m. local time.
Best Buy Black Friday hours
Hours: Closed on Thanksgiving. Opens Black Friday at 6 a.m.
Best Buy's Black Friday sale started Nov. 17.
JCPenney Black Friday hours
Hours: Closed on Thanksgiving. Opens Black Friday at 5 a.m.
JCPenney opens at 5 a.m. on Black Friday and will have sweepstakes for coupons and freebies throughout the day.
Kohl's Black Friday hours
Hours: Closed on Thanksgiving. Opens Black Friday at 5 a.m.
Kohl's kicked off Black Friday deals on Sunday. Now through Wednesday, shoppers online and in-store can earn $10 Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent.
The store will also offer sweepstakes for in-store shoppers on Black Friday.
Macy's Black Friday hours
Hours: Closed on Thanksgiving. Opens Black Friday at 6 a.m.
Macy's Black Friday deals started Sunday and will continue through Saturday.
Lowe's Black Friday hours
Hours: Closed on Thanksgiving. Opens Black Friday at 6 a.m.
Lowe's launched early Black Friday savings on Oct. 22, and those deals continue until Wednesday. Shop new Black Friday deals on Friday starting at 6 a.m.
Old Navy Black Friday hours
Hours: Vary by location. Check your closest store at oldnavy.gap.com/stores.
Old Navy Black Friday deals start Wednesday and continue through Cyber Monday on Nov. 27.
Costco Black Friday hours
Hours: Closed on Thanksgiving. Opens Black Friday at 9 a.m.
Early Black Friday deals run Nov. 13-27, Black Friday weekend savings run Nov. 24-27 and online-only deals start Thursday.
