Shocking Side-By-Side Picture!

The 47-year-old, real name Timothy Mosley, revealed he suffered from a terrible addiction to pain pills that started back in 2011.

For the next few years, Mosley went through a nasty divorce and faced a few financial issues. "[The painkillers] put me in a great feeling of not caring, of just being free," Timbaland told the magazine.

He continued, "I'm like traveling, doing shows, popping 'em, having fun, just being ignorant."

Addicted To Painkillers Oxycontin and Percocet

Timbaland explains the addiction started after getting a root canal. He started abusing "OxyContin and Percocet", and claims the addiction got worse during the subsequent divorce and IRS investigation for unpaid taxes.

At one point, Timbaland claims he "had a dream that death was near." He explained, "I saw myself with a white face."

He gives credit to his three children, daughter Reign, 12, and sons Demetrius, 27, and Frankie, 17 for helping him see the light to get help. "It's like a bright light going on in your brain," he said.

He continued, "That's how you know what true love really is."

"This was the path chosen for me. God was rebuilding my character...The only things that got me through it were my kids, my girl, the help of God keeping my mind still." he said about overcoming the addiction.

At the time, he didn’t know how many pills he was taking every day but admitted it was “way over the limit.” He explained that because of the drug abuse, mixed with bad eating habits he ballooned up to 350lbs.

The bigger problem...he was diagnosed with prediabetes.

Interestingly, Timbaland explained to the outlet one of the moves he made was leaving his 14,000 sq. ft. mansion behind, and moving into a smaller home. "I had to downsize, get all that superstar stuff out of the way," he said.

Getting In Shape...

Timbaland gave a view on the diet that helped him drop all of the weight. It included alkaline water and supplementing meals with smoothies. The key...using “Pineapples, cantaloupes, kiwis and strawberries, to give it a little flavor.”

Also, like the rest of us, he allows himself “cheat days.”

He explained, “The one thing that gets me is when we go to the movie theatre because we go to a certain theatre and you gotta order something off the menu. I try to order a salad, knowing that’s the only thing -- that’s really not healthy -- that I’m going to get.”

As for the gym, the producer works out at DBC Fitness in Miami. Owner David Alexander spoke to the magazine as well, explaining how he worked with the mogul.

“He understands that this is his new life. It’s not something that’s going to go away in three months. And he’s committed. Tim is one of the most mentally strong guys out there," Alexander said.

Bottom Line: Dude is now sober and ripped!
