Tim Spicer (‘Survivor 46’ exit interview): ‘I was a leader, I wasn’t a loser’

On Wednesday’s seventh episode of “Survivor 46,” two groups of six attended two different Tribal Councils where two players had immunity and two players were eliminated. In the first group, Siga player Tim Spicer lobbied hard for the Yanu three to join him in an opportunity to trim the Nami numbers, but they felt they couldn’t trust him and so they took him out instead. Read on for Tim’s “Survivor 46” exit interview from the end of the episode.

After going on a journey earlier in the season with Q Burdette and Hunter McKnight, Tim was a part of a six person cross-tribe alliance that Q was willing to work with through to the end of the game. At last week’s merge, Tim fumbled that bag by showing Q more allegiance to his original Siga group than to the new six. When it came to this weeks’ split TCs, the damage was done between Q and Tim and, not knowing it for himself, Tim was fighting an uphill battle when the Q and the other Yanu players had the power to decide.

“They got me. They got me,” Tim said upon his elimination. “Technically I lost, but I didn’t have to fake and follow anybody else’s game. I was a leader, I wasn’t a loser.” It was actually Tim’s “leader” mentality that helped Q, Tiffany Nicole Ervin and Kenzie Petty decide between Tim and Hunter. Tim wanted to lead the charge against Nami by way of a Hunter elimination so that he could keep his Siga numbers strong and continue to play between multiple alliances. He also had a strong personal connection to their other option, Ben Katzman, that needed to be broken up.

As the player eliminated from the first TC of the night, Tim did not become a member of the jury that will decide the winner of the game. Still, he left in high spirits and with confidence in how he played the game. “I’m honored, I’m thankful,” he concluded. “I’m the sexiest dad to ever do this and I’ll get over it.”
