Tim McGraw is following up his latest album, Standing Room Only, with a surprise EP, Poet’s Resumé.

The six-track project is anchored by opening number “Runnin’ Out of Love,” a galloping power ballad simultaneously rife with angst and full of romance. “I’ve tried running away and I ran out of road/I’ve run out of push, and I’ve run out of shove,” McGraw sings before launching into the chorus: “But I ain’t runnin’ outta love/It ain’t gonna happen/Never gonna stop/It’s everlastin’.”

On Instagram, McGraw shared a short note about Poet’s Resumé, describing the project as a kind of “thank you” to fans, befitting its pre-Thanksgiving drop. “In the spirit of being thankful, I’m so grateful for all of you and the ways you have supported me, my family, and my music thru the years. Here’s a little surprise drop of a few songs you’ve never heard. Enjoy!”

McGraw produced Poet’s Resumé with longtime collaborator Byron Gallimore. The EP arrives just a couple months after the August release of Standing Room Only, the country star’s 16th studio and first since 2020’s Here on Earth.

McGraw already has big touring plans scheduled in support of Standing Room Only, with a massive North American run launching next spring. The trek will kick off March 14 in Jacksonville, Florida, and continue all the way through April and May, wrapping June 27 in Phoenix. During the tour, McGraw will receive support from singer-songwriter Carly Pearce.

On top of all the new music, McGraw has been getting his flowers this fall from the country music industry, receiving both the Nashville Songwriters Association International’s President’s Keystone Award, as well as the Academy of Country Music’s Icon Award. It’s hard to argue, however, that either prize tops the victory McGraw enjoyed earlier this year when his dog Lepshi won Best of Breed at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show.

Lepshi won the Bracco Italiano breed competition, which was just added to the dog show this year. McGraw, one of Lepshi’s four owners, celebrated the win on Instagram, writing, “So proud of Lepshi!! He’s always been a winner in our eyes!”
