Just when the Yellowstone timeline couldn't get confusing enough, the franchise always seems to find another way to throw viewers off trail. When the Season Five mid-season finale escalated the drama, the series went on indefinite hiatus. And when we thought there was an 1883 sequel, we got the announcement for a completely separate series around the same time period titled Lawman: Bass Reeves that exists outside the Yellowstone universe.

Now, 1883 star Tim McGraw has accidentally confused fans once again. Posting a clip of the series to his Instagram, the country star and James Dutton actor wrote, "Are you ready for a new episode of #1883TV? Tune in tonight at 8/7c on @paramountnetwork." Naturally, people unaware of the current TV schedule on Paramount felt like they were given false hopes of a second season. "Yes! I’d love another season! [Please] 🙏🏻❤️," one person commented. "I wish they had more seasons!" another user excitedly wrote.

Sadly, there are no new episodes of 1883. During this mix of franchise hiatus and the SAG-AFTRA strike, Paramount decided to air weekly episodes of previously paywalled shows like 1883. Before, 1883 was only available to watch for Paramount+ subscribers. So, when McGraw posted that it was time for a new episode, he meant that Episode Four of 1883 was airing on Paramount that night.

For those still hoping for Season Two, you're better off just moving on to 1923 with Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren. As 1883 heads very well know, not enough characters even survive the limited series to return for more. "[Paramount was]like, there better be a fucking Season Two because we already picked it up," creator Taylor Sheridan recalled in an interview with Deadline. “I’m sitting here going, ‘Guys, everyone is dead.’"

But Sheridan doesn't stop just because there's no one left to write about it. Aside from new series such as Special Ops: Lioness and the upcoming Bass Reeves, the Yellowstone creator is also whipping up a sequel to the flagship show starring Matthew McConaughey. Hell, he's also reportedly working on a 6666 spinoff and multiple more year-based limited Yellowstone series in the 1950s and 1960s. If it's infinite Yellowstone you want, infinite Yellowstone is what you'll get.
