Tim Heidecker and Greg Turkington to Star in New Film Mister America
Tim Heidecker and Gregg Turkington will star in Mister America, a new movie that extends the universe of their Adult Swim comedy series “On Cinema at the Cinema,” as Variety reports. The film, which was recently acquired by Magnolia Pictures, involves Heidecker’s “On Cinema” character running for public office. According to Variety, “His effort to win voters tries to overcome a lack of experience and funding by leaning into the candidate’s personal likability. It does not go well.”
In a statement, Magnolia president Eamonn Bowles said, “Mister America is a wonderful tribute to our political process at work. It makes me proud to be an American.” Mister America is directed by Eric Notarnicola. It’s due for a fall theatrical release.
Last month, “On Cinema” received a “deluxe, hardbound, episode-by-episode guide” via Drag City. Tim Heidecker recently released the new album What the Brokenhearted Do....
