Tim Grunhard teases ‘special treat’ for ’90s era Chiefs fans

If the ’90s era Kansas City Chiefs helped influence your fandom, you could soon be in for a pleasant surprise.

Over the weekend, former Chiefs starting center Tim Grunhard teased a new and mysterious project on Twitter. All we really know about what Grunhard referred to as a “special treat” is that it’s expected to appeal to ’90s era Chiefs fans. It also appears to be coming soon.

“Did you fall in love with the Chiefs Kingdom in the 90s,” Grunhard wrote on Twitter. “Did you love the characters that roamed the gridiron during that decade? I have a special treat (planned) for all of you coming soon!”

Grunhard played in Kansas City from 1990 through 2000, the entire ’90s decade, starting over 160 games during that span. He was one of the stalwart offensive linemen who helped pave the way for the team’s dominant rushing attack — a staple of Chiefs football during the ’90s.

This upcoming season, Grunhard is set to be recognized as the 50th member of the Chiefs’ Ring of Honor. So what exactly does Grunhard have planned? I’d wager that it’s something that would perhaps help commemorate his time with the franchise. Perhaps, he’ll be releasing a book with chapters written by or featuring his former Chiefs teammates?

We’ll surely find out more about what Grunhard has planned in the coming weeks.
