The post Tim Allen Open to Home Improvement Spinoff, “Never Felt” That the Show “Was Done” appeared first on Consequence.

Tim Allen has opened up about the possibility of a Home Improvement spinoff, explaining that he’d be interested in participating in a new version of the show.

Allen’s comments came in a new interview with The Messenger, in which he explained that he’s stayed in touch with many cast members from Home Improvement, including Richard Karn (Al), Zachery Ty Bryan (Brad), Jonathan Taylor Thomas (Randy), and Taran Noah Smith (Mark). “We keep talking about [a spinoff],” Allen said.

“It’s funny, one of the conversations we’ve had recently is how weird it would be if Home Improvement would be about the kids’ kids,” he continued. “Like if all of them had children, and I’m a grandparent. Home Re-Improvement or something like that. It’s come up.”

Continuing, Allen noted that the idea has been mentioned to more folks than just his pals from the cast. “I can’t say everybody, but it has been floated,” he said. “And more than I would have expected said, ‘Yeah, that would be cool to do it years later,’ like Roseanne.”

This isn’t the first time Allen has hinted at Home Improvement’s return. For years, he’s indicated an interest in reprising the series, and in 2020, he even reunited with Karn for a handiness reality competition show titled Assembly Required.

In the new interview, Allen explained that his interest in revisiting the show stems from his appreciation for the cast and crew, and his desire to revive their days together. “I never felt — and it’s come true — that this was done,” he said. “It never felt right. In the time off, we got real close where we talked to everybody.”

Meanwhile, Zachery Ty Bryan has made headlines in recent years for ignoring the life lessons of Tim Taylor completely. In 2020, he was arrested for allegedly strangling his then-girlfriend, and earlier this year, it was reported that he owed upwards of $50,000 to folks he tricked into investing in a crypto scam. In July, he was arrested for felony assault.

As for Allen, he faced allegations earlier this year from Pamela Anderson, who alleged that he flashed her on the set of Home Improvement. Allen has denied the claims, though footage of him flashing his co-star, Patricia Richardson, on set — albeit, with boxer shorts on — have since surfaced.

Up next, he’ll reprise the role of Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story 5. He’ll also appear in the upcoming second season of the Disney+ show, The Santa Clauses.
