Tilda Swinton is overjoyed to be working with Oscar-winning filmmaker Pedro Almodóvar and costar Julianne Moore.

At the premiere of the new movie Problemista in New York City on Tuesday, Swinton, 63, gushed about her first time acting alongside May December star Moore, 63, in the their upcoming film, The Room Next Door.

"We've actually met a couple of times over the years. And we've always wanted to hang out more and more," Swinton tells PEOPLE of getting to know the Academy Award-winning actress. "And the best way of hanging out with someone you like is to work with them. And now we're together and we're loving it."

"We're in Madrid and we've been there for two months, and we're going to be there until the summer and we're really happy to be together," Swinton adds.

Swinton starred in Problemista amid an array of roles in 2023, including parts in Asteroid City, The Killer and two short films. The new movie from former Saturday Night Live writer Julio Torres, who wrote, produced and stars in the film, follows Torres as an El Salvadoran immigrant in New York City who obtains a job with an eccentric artist (Swinton) in hopes of retaining his work visa and realize his dreams of designing toys.

"When he sent me this script, I was just so thrilled to know that he knew who I was, and thought that I might want to come and play with him," Swinton tells PEOPLE of working with Torres on Problemista. "And I love the film so much."

Problemista releases in theaters March 22.
