Tiger Woods' PopStroke putting and dining venue will open in Delray Beach next month, the first of three PopStroke locations opening in Palm Beach County during the next two years.

What is PopStroke?

Think of a family-friendly activity, such as mini-golf, then cram technology, bars, food, play areas and even an ice cream parlor into the mix. Top it all off with a professionally-designed putting course, and you have a sports, entertainment and food venue designed to appeal to all ages.

The Delray Beach location at 1314 N. Federal Highway will open the first week of November, said PopStroke founder Greg Bartoli. An exact opening date isn't yet set.

The Delray Beach location will feature two synthetic-turf golf courses on 2.9 acres north of downtown Atlantic Avenue's dining district.

Expect a restaurant and bar scene to match the locale.

Downtown Delray Beach "has a lot of entertainment," Bartoli said. "We're positioned to be part of the nightlife. We're going to fit in nicely there."

Daytime may appeal more to families, Bartoli said, not only because of the golf course but also because of the children's play areas and games, including foosball and cornhole.

Nighttime is expected to attract adults in buzzy Delray Beach.

PopStroke's luxury touches and tech-forward features

PopStroke features a full, made-from-scratch elevated restaurant serving American fare, ranging from burgers to steaks to seafood, Bartoli said.

And this winter, when the weather turns from unbearable to sublime, the restaurant's pocket doors will open up to allow guests to enjoy the ocean breezes while beholding the greens.

Technology is an integral part of the PopStroke concept. Big-screen televisions are everywhere at PopStroke, including on the course. There's also a 136-inch TV in the restaurant, which Bartoli said is the biggest screen available for watching sports events.

On the course, there's more technology: Customers will be able to use a PopStroke phone app so their drinks can be delivered wherever they are playing.

Because parking is more limited at the Delray Beach spot than at other company venues, PopStroke will provide shuttle service to the North Federal Highway venue from Atlantic Avenue and the beach.

As enthusiastic as Bartoli is about opening in Delray Beach, he's even more pumped about the West Palm Beach location.

In August, PopStroke struck a deal to lease 3.4 acres in West Palm Beach on property owned by Palm Beach International Airport. The land is at the intersection of Australian Avenue and Belvedere Road adjacent to the airport.

Scheduled to open in late 2024, Bartoli said this will be PopStroke's showy flagship location.

In addition to golf, food, drinks and games, this site also will feature a rooftop pool and cabanas atop a large restaurant and second-floor banquet facility. A full children's playground also is planned.

The county's dramatic growth in both residents and companies creates opportunity for a centrally located venue for private events, Bartoli said. Everything from birthday parties to corporate events could take place in the second-floor space.

"We feel the West Palm Beach location could be a big hit," Bartoli said.

Meanwhile, PopStroke will open a Wellington location in 2025. The site is along State Road 7 just north of Wellington Regional Medical Center.

PopStroke costs from $25 to $35 for an all-day pass on weekdays and $30 to $40 on weekends. Discounts are available for children and seniors.

Golf-loving dad wanted venue for kids and adults. So he created it.

Bartoli, a former Wall Street banker, moved to Florida several years ago. He quickly became a mini-golf aficionado and developed the Lighthouse Cove Adventure Golf course, which has two locations in Jupiter.

But Bartoli said he still yearned for a golf venue where he could bring his three children and enjoy some adult me-time.

When he created PopStroke in 2018, he made sure to include play areas and playgrounds along with sports bars and television sets. Bartoli opened PopStroke's first location in Port St. Lucie in 2019, then brought on Woods, who lives in Jupiter Island, as a co-owner in 2020. Woods' TGR Design redid the Port St. Lucie course.

Since 2020, PopStroke has opened locations throughout Florida, including in Sarasota, Fort Myers and Orlando. Nationally, PopStroke has several locations in mostly Sun Belt states. More sites are opening at a fast clip.

A second Scottsdale, Arizona, location opened in October. And new spots in Alabama, Las Vegas, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, three more in Texas, plus two more in Florida, will open in the next few months.

In all, Bartoli expects to have 30 PopStroke locations open by the end of 2025.

Woods isn't the only major golf investor to get involved in PopStroke Entertainment Group. The equipment company TaylorMade recently joined with the venture, too. Each PopStroke venue is outfitted with special edition TaylorMade golf balls for patrons to use on the putting course and take home as a keepsake.

Putters are included in the PopStroke daypass, but premium TaylorMade rental putters can be rented for $10.

Not just a golf operator but a growing corporate headquarters company

Bartoli said the sports entertainment company is growing fast, with more than 1,000 employees nationwide.

The company's Jupiter headquarters employs 50 but will grow, too. More workers are expected to be hired in finance, real estate, technology, operations and human resources, Bartoli said.

In fact, within the next couple of years, PopStroke will need larger office space, he added.

Bartoli said the company is eying Palm Beach Gardens or downtown West Palm Beach for a new headquarters office.
