Tiger Woods' 14-Year-Old Son Charlie Wins High School Golf Championship with Dad Cheering Him on

Charlie won his first-ever state golf championship and had a special guest cheering him on

The Woods family’s trophies have grown by one.

On Wednesday, Tiger Woods’ son Charlie, 14, competed in his first-ever high school state golf tournament, and the Hall of Famer was there to cheer him on.

Charlie, a student at the Benjamin School, competed with the Palm Beach Gardens, Florida school's team, helping them to their fourth state title, according to USA Today.

The tournament took place at Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla. and Charlie came in 26th place. His teammate, sophomore Jake Valentine, helped secure the win for the team with a total score of 148, the outlet reported. Charlie’s other teammates tied for eighth, 12th, 19th, and 34th.

Wednesday’s exciting championship victory comes just days after Tiger, 47, caddied for his son at the Notah Begay III Junior Golf Championship in Louisiana.

In a video shared on SB Nation’s Playing Through on X (formerly known as Twitter), Tiger walked quickly alongside his teenage son, whom he shares with ex-wife Elin Nordegren, as Charlie played in the tournament.

Charlie had secured his spot at the Junior Golf Championship with an age group victory in the second round of the Last Chance Regional back in September. Tiger had been by his side for that tournament, too, and caddied for him.

After the win, Charlie said in a post round interview that it was "great" to have his father supporting him on the golf course. “We just stay in our own little world,” he said about his dad joining him.

“We take it one shot at a time," Charlie continued, adding that his dad "puts me in my place" from time to time. "I’ll talk about the next tee shot and he’s like, ‘No. This is the shot we’re going to focus on. Focus up. This is what we’re gonna do.’ ”

Tiger’s several appearances alongside his son — and his multiple caddying efforts — come months after he withdrew from the Masters before the fourth round. He said in a statement at the time that he had reaggravated his plantar fasciitis, a condition that arises from inflammation in the foot.

He later underwent “successful” fusion surgery to address the ankle pain, and in a statement, he said that the operation also helped with lingering arthritis issues in his leg that stemmed from his 2021 car accident.
