Tiffany Haddish Finally Says Who Bit Beyonce

Tiffany Haddish has finally revealed the identity of the woman who bit Beyonce at a party last year.

Confirming what had been previously reported by multiple tabloids, Haddish said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter that it was “Love & Basketball” star Sanaa Lathan who did the biting.

“I’m super good friends with her stepmom and her dad [Stan, a producer-director], and they were mad at me,” Haddish said. “They were like, ‘Why would you do this to the family? You know, black actresses, you guys have to stick together, it’s so hard for you guys to get work as it is, why would you try to ruin her career?’ But I didn’t try to ruin her career. I never said her name! I was just trying to say how Beyonce kept me from goin’ to jail that night. I coulda just shut my whole career down.”

Haddish set off a firestorm of speculation when she recounted in multiple interviews the time she nearly got into a fight at a private party last year with an actress who bit Beyonce on the face. At the time, she refused to identify the perpetrator, citing a non-disclosure agreement she had signed.

Lathan denied being the culprit in a tweet shortly after the story began making the rounds, saying that “under no circumstances” was she the one who chomped into the pop star. However, she did add the caveat that “if I did, it would’ve been a love bite.”

She later doubled down on the denial in a Health magazine cover story, calling it “the most absurd thing I’ve ever been involved with.”

Reps for Lathan did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.
