Haddish discussed their 2021 breakup with The Washington Post in a story that ran last July. “It was more him saying, ‘I think this relationship has run its course,’" she explained. "And I was like, ‘OK. Like you gonna be a 50-year-old single man. OK?’”

She said that her time with Common was “the healthiest, the funnest relationship I’ve ever had."

What is 'I Curse You With Joy' about?

"I Curse You With Joy" is released Tuesday, May 7. The book comes after Haddish's "The Last Black Unicorn," which debuted on the New York Times Best Sellers list in 2017 and told the story of her rise from nothing to reaching her dreams.

"I Curse You With Joy" is described as "Tiffany Haddish unfiltered," per the book’s synopsis on Amazon.

It features essays "bringing readers into Tiffany's inner circle where joy, honesty, humor, and heart are the order of the day."
