Tidal appears to be benefitting from its exclusive release strategy in a big way.

Back in February, their subscribers more than doubled from 1 million to 2.5 million following the release of Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo. Now, in the week after Beyoncé dropped Lemonade, they gained another 1.2 million new subscribers. The New York Times reports that songs from Lemonade have been streamed 306 million times.

The current total number of Tidal subscribers is unknown, but they did report it as 3 million back in March, making the Beyoncé bump huge for the Jay Z co-owned service. Their numbers are still small compared to Spotify’s 30 million paid subscribers and 13 million at Apple Music, but it seems the exclusive releases are working out well for the platform.
