GREEN BAY – Organizers say about 70,000 tickets have been sold for the Bayern Munich-Manchester City soccer match at Lambeau Field.

The exhibition match against two of the world's best soccer clubs is scheduled for 6 p.m. July 23 on the home field of the Green Bay Packers.

The match is not a sell-out. Lambeau Field's capacity is 81,441. The Packers averaged 77,991 attendance during the 2021 regular season.

Seats are available around the stadium. The biggest grouping of unsold seats are among the lower-priced, in the upper rows of the Lambeau Field bowl on the north end. Those seats sell for $75.

According to Ticketmaster, some $65 seats also are available. The most expensive remaining tickets are $795.

The average of the lowest prices on the secondary market, based on four websites, is $62.

Bayern-Man City will be the first professional soccer match held at Lambeau Field.

Manchester City (29-6-3, 93 points) won England's Premier League title on the final day of the season with a rally from two down to defeat Aston Villa 3-2, keeping them one point ahead of second-place Liverpool. It was Man City's fourth title in five years.

Bayern Munich (24-5-5, 77 points) had less difficulty winning the Bundesliga, finishing eight points ahead of Dortmund. It was Bayern's record-breaking 10th consecutive Bundesliga title.

The weekend of the game will kick off a busy time in Green Bay. The Green Bay Packers will hold their annual shareholders' meeting on Monday, July 25, and open training camp for the 2022 season on Wednesday, July 27, with the first of 12 public practices, which end Aug. 17.

Traditionally, training camp drew 90,000 visitors to Green Bay. There was no public training camp in 2020 because of the COVID pandemic. Last year's training camp was open to the public, but with restrictions. Training camp this year will be more along the lines of the pre-COVID camps, including the return of players riding kids' bicycles from Lambeau Field to the Don Hutson/Ray Nitschke practice fields.

The week-long EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh also begins on that Monday. That event drew more than 600,000 visitors in 2021, according to EAA.

The annual Kitsunekon convention, an event for lovers of anime and gaming, claimed many downtown Green Bay hotel rooms for the weekend of July 22-24.
