Monty Python’s Spamalot, the Eric Idle-written musical based on Monty Python and the Holy Grail, will be returning to Broadway for the first time in 14 years. It will begin playing at the St. James Theatre on October 31st, and officially open on November 16th.

Along with the announcement, the team behind the Tony Award-winning musical gave a hint of what audiences can expect and shared details on how to get tickets. Read up on all the info and grab your tickets here.

What Is the Spamalot Broadway Revival?

Inspired by Monty Python’s 1975 film, Monty Python and the Holy Grail — err, “lovingly ripped off,” as the promo material puts it — Monty Python’s Spamalot takes viewers back to mythical Medieval England for a whimsical tale following King Arthur, his Round Table, and their quest to find the Holy Grail.

The musical first debuted on Broadway in 2005, and won numerous Tony Awards, including one for Best Musical. It went on to have a four-year run, closing in 2009. Since then, though, performances have continued around the world.

Most recently, a production of the musical directed by Josh Rhodes was staged for the Kennedy Center’s Broadway Center Stage — this production is what will be hitting Broadway this fall, with Rhodes coming along as the director.

“I’m thrilled to see Spamalot back on Broadway,” Idle — who wrote the book and lyrics, and co-wrote the music — said in a press statement. “More than ever, it seems we need a good laugh and it’s inspiring to see audiences still embracing this, the most happy of shows I have ever worked on. So put the News Cycle on Rinse Cycle and take a couple of hours to relax with the Lady of the Lake, King Arthur and the Knights Who Say Ni because we’re not dead yet!”

Who Is In the Cast of the Spamalot Broadway Revival?

Other than director Josh Rhodes, no information has been released regarding the cast and crew of the Spamalot Broadway revival. The press release, however, does state that the show’s team will “consider announcing casting and additional creative team at a later date.” A thoughtful consideration, indeed.

How Can I Get Tickets to See Spamalot on Broadway?

Tickets for the Broadway revival of Spamalot will go on-sale in early August. “Exclusive first ticket access” will become available on Tuesday, August 8th, at 10 a.m. ET for fans who’ve signed up for the musical’s newsletter on its official website.

Tickets will then go on-sale for the general public the very next day, on Wednesday, August 9th, at 10 a.m. ET through Ticketmaster.

Once tickets are on sale, you can also find them at StubHub, where orders are 100% guaranteed through StubHub’s FanProtect program. StubHub is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

Additionally, the “official card sponsor” of Spamalot, American Express, will offer special access to tickets for its card members through the American Express Preferred Seating program.

What Are the Dates of the Spamalot Broadway revival?

The Broadway revival of Spamalot will begin playing at the St. James Theatre in Midtown Manhattan on October 31st. The official opening night will come just a few weeks later, on November 16th. Beyond that, no specific dates have been released. The press material does, however, warn that it will “probably” be a “limited engagement.”

Nonetheless, tickets go on sale next week. Grab yours here.
