Former President Donald J. Trump is set to hold a “Save America” rally in Wilmington on Friday.

This week’s appearance marks Trump's first public appearance in the Port City in over two years. Here’s what to know about the former president’s upcoming visit.

Where to get tickets

The "Save America" rally is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 23, at the Aero Center Wilmington on the grounds of the Wilmington International Airport.

Tickets for the event are free and available online. Individuals are able to register for up to two tickets at a time, and tickets are being distributed on a first come, first serve basis.

Aero Center Wilmington is expecting upwards of 10,000 people to attend the rally, according to staff.

What to expect

Parking lots are set to open at 8 a.m. – 11 hours before the former president’s remarks. Doors to the event will open at 2 p.m. and speeches are set to begin at 4 p.m.

Trump, the 45th president of the United States, is expected to speak at 7 p.m.

With thousands anticipated attendees, lines for entry could form long before the doors open. The Aero Center Wilmington is located at 1830 Flightline Road at the Wilmington International Airport.

Republican U.S. Senate candidate Ted Budd is expected to attend, as well. Budd won the Republican U.S. Senate primary in May and running against Democrat Cheri Beasley in November's general election.

What will Trump speak about?

According to a news release, Trump is expected to offer remarks in support of Budd and his campaign at Friday’s rally, ahead of the Nov. 8 election.

Trump previously offered his endorsement to Budd.

Security

According to Aero Center staff, Friday’s event will be “highly secured.” Attendees will be restricted from accessing certain areas, such as the airport tarmac where aircrafts are parked.

Staff at the Aero Center said security personnel will be on site directing people to where they can participate in the event.

Parking for Donald Trump rally

Specific details regarding parking have not been released as of Wednesday, but staff at the Aero Center said attendants will be on the ground ushering drivers to the correct locations Friday.

Will it be livestreamed?

Livestream details have not yet been released by Trump or Budd’s teams.
