This year, United Way of the Big Bend is excited to welcome Tallahassee native Shannon Bream as the event’s keynote speaker. Bream is a Florida State University law school graduate, attorney, author, journalist, podcaster, wife, and daughter. The format will be “conversation style” with Sally Bradshaw as the moderator.

Bream is the host of Fox News Sunday with Shannon Bream and has written several books including two New York Times No. 1 Best Sellers. In 2018, she wrote "Finding the Bright Side: The Art of Chasing What Matters," which is based on her life experience and lessons learned.

“Women United brings this signature event to women (and men) in the community in the hopes that the inspiring message sparks a passion for philanthropy and ignites a spirit of community & connection to create a better future for our neighbors,” said Kim Campo, Chair of Women United.

Bream began her legal career working on racial discrimination and sexual harassment cases and is well-versed in the struggles that many in our community face.

From humble beginnings at a local ABC affiliate in Tampa, she practiced law during the day while interning at night making coffee and answering phones. In 2007, she landed a job with Fox News at the network’s Washington, D.C., bureau and has distinguished herself as their chief legal correspondent in the years that have followed.

“The Women’s Leadership Breakfast provides an opportunity to learn about Women United, an initiative of the United Way of the Big Bend that addresses the region’s most critical needs with the aim to lift women, children, and families out of poverty and at the edge of poverty,” said Berneice Cox, United Way of the Big Bend President and CEO.
