Tickets for Michigan Central concert now available Wednesday after technical glitch

Tickets for the Michigan Central Station’s opening festivities will now be available Wednesday morning after a technical calamity derailed Tuesday’s signup plans.

Registration for the free June 6 concert at the restored train station will now happen at livefromdetroit.eventbrite.com. Signups for June 7-16 tours of the historic site will be available at michigancentralopenhouse.eventbrite.com.

Both will be available starting 9 a.m. Wednesday. For the June 6 concert, there's a two-ticket limit.

The public was originally instructed to register Tuesday at Michigan Central’s website, but “technical difficulties caused by overwhelming demand” left users unable to access the signup page.

“We apologize for the inconvenience,” Michigan Central reps said in a statement Tuesday evening. “We quickly identified the problem, but to ensure access to tickets is as fair as possible and allow time to communicate updates, we paused registration Tuesday.”

The June 6 concert is expected to feature major Detroit acts as part of the celebration marking the train station's return, following an extensive six-year renovation by Ford Motor Company.
