Tia Carrere's Most Famous Roles

Actress Tia Carrere was a huge star in the 90s.

Carrere was a hit with her film and television work, but as the years went by new roles were hard to find for the actress.

But now Carrere is making a career comeback thanks to the Netflix series AJ & The Queen. The show is about a drag queen named Ruby Red, who sets off on a road trip with her new friend, a 10 year-old stowaway named AJ.

Carrere plays the show's antagonist Lady Danger, who makes things difficult for Ruby Red, played by RuPaul Charles.

Carrere loves her role in the series because it allows her to play a villain.

While Carrere is gaining a new batch of fans thanks to her new role, let's take a look at some of her previous work that fans may remember.

Wayne's World

It's the role that made Tia Carrere a star.

In 1992, she starred alongside Mike Myers and Dana Carvey in the comedy film. Carrere played musician Cassandra Wong, the girlfriend of Myers' character Wayne Campbell.

Carrere's chemistry with Myers was awesome and helped the movie to go on to be a box office success, and a classic comedy.

Carrere would reprise her role as Cassandra in the 1993 sequel Wayne's World 2.

Nearly 28 years after the film's release, Carrere says she still gets recognized for her iconic role.

Lilo & Stitch

For the 2002 Disney film Lilo & Stitch, Carrere provided the voice of Nani Pelekai.

Nani is Lilo's older sister, who takes in the girl following the death of their parents. Nani struggles to provide for her younger sister, and if their lives weren't complicated enough, she has to deal with Lilo's new furry, alien companion.

The film was a huge success by making over $200 million at the box office.

Carrere would go on to reprise the role in the film's 2005 direct to video sequel.

True Lies

In 1994, Carrere got to test out her villain side when she co-starred with Arnold Schwarzenegger in the action film True Lies.

Playing the role of Juno Skinner, Carrere masqueraded as an art dealer by day, but was secretly working with a terrorist group.

Throughout the film Tia and Arnold's characters often flirted with each other as he tried to get information on her connection to terrorists.

Towards the end of the film, Carrere's character gets what's coming to her when she gets into a fight with Jaime Lee Curtis, who played Arnold's wife.

Married...with Children

Prior to becoming a film star, Tia Carrere landed guest roles on television shows.

In 1990, she guest starred on the Fox sitcom Married...with Children.

Playing a model, Tia's character was a rival of Kelly Bundy. The two women traded barbs as they auditioned to be a model in a car commercial. After stealing Kelly's signature pose, Tia's character gets the job.

However, Kelly decides to get revenge on her rival. Right before the commercial, Kelly knocks out Tia and takes her rightful place as the car's spokesmodel.
