18 Candles: ‘Modern Family’ Actress Ariel Winter Receives Lots of Birthday Love

Thursday marked the beginning of adulthood for actress Ariel Winter.
The Modern Family star turned 18 on Jan. 28, and she spent the day with her castmates. Yes, she had to work, but they obviously made her feel special.
Her co-star Sofia Vergara shared a pic of the chocolate cake presented to Winter and sent the younger actress birthday wishes.

Sarah Hyland, who plays Winter’s big sis, posted an especially sweet photo of herself and the birthday girl. “Happy 18th birthday @arielwinter!!!!! It blows my mind that you’re now the age I was when we first met,” the 25-year-old wrote. “Love you little sister."

The show’s Rico Rodriguez, 17, shared two snapshots of him and Winter through the years, along with some touching words. "Happy 18th birthday @arielwinter! You are such a kind, talented, and beautiful woman and it’s been fun getting to grow up with you for the past 10 years,” he captioned them. “Cheers to many more birthdays together!"

Not to be outdone, actor Eric Stonestreet tweeted a funny message: "Happy birthday to the sweet, adorable and wildly talented @arielwinter1. My promise to have Ed O'Neill crush anyone who hurts you remains."
In all seriousness, Winter has proven herself to be a mature teenager and probably won’t need to take advantage of Stonestreet’s offer. Still, good to know her co-stars have her back!
