The group, now in its fifth decade, is set to perform on Aug. 10 at 7:30 p.m.

Three Dog Night went on quite a run between 1969 and 1974, executing the most top 10 hits, on top of selling the most records and concert tickets over the same length of time. This also includes multiple Super Bowl appearances, the first coming in 1971, in Dallas.

Not only has Three Dog Night made waves in the U.S., but sales of their records stretch to Japan, Canada, and Spain, just to name a few.

The band was first created by Danny Hutton in 1968, and he maintains involvement in the approximately 90-gig-a-year schedule, along with his son, Timothy. The name, Three Dog Night, refers to the native Australian hunters who huddled with their dogs on cold nights, the coldest being dubbed a “three dog night.”

Some of the band’s most popular titles include “Joy to the World,” Black and White,” “Shambala,” and “One.” Three Dog Night has performed over 3,000 shows over five decades, and they continue to grow their fanbase.

Tickets for the August 10 concert in Mobile go on sale on Friday, May 24, and prices start at $36. Those looking to attend can purchase tickets online, in person at the theatre’s box office or the Mobile Civic Center box office.
