Threat circulated at Arizona State University in Tempe ruled a hoax
A recent bomb threat made via social media for the Tempe campus Wednesday night was ruled a hoax by Arizona State University police after further investigation.
The threat, originating on Reddit, caused confusion and concern for ASU students and staff and prompted a thorough investigation by campus police.
"The original post did come from Reddit, and that site did take down the post. We did just conclude the investigation, and it was found to be a hoax," an ASU police spokesperson told The Arizona Republic.
Police were expected to provide an update later in the day.
No other information had been released.
