This Guy Won the Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting Ceremony
During NBC’s Christmas in Rockefeller Center, there were a lot of famous faces, but there was also a normal guy trying to make his face famous. A man in the crowd managed to place himself directly behind an interview being conducted by Today show anchor Willie Geist, and he proceeded to make a face, with his mouth agape. The unknown man stared directly into the camera and managed to grab not only the eyes of the viewer but also their hearts.
The man’s trolling for fame did not go unnoticed as people on Twitter took screengrabs and quickly shared them. Viewer Elizabeth Wilson tweeted: “When they give you a venti latte but you only paid for a grande.” While other viewers like Tricia Baron tweeted: “I know 1 of my friends must know this fool @ the #rockefellertreelighting. Who is he? We were in hysterics! #thatguy.”
While we may never know who the man with the thousand-yard smile is, there is one thing we do know: Even the little things in the background can sometimes be big stars.
