Tacos & Tequila Music Fest at HOF Village
The Tacos & Tequila Music Fest will be Saturday at Hall of Fame Village in Canton.
Featuring throwback hip-hop and rap musical artists, professional wrestling, food and drinks, the event will be at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium.
General admission tickets cost $79 in advance and can be purchased at https://www.hofvillage.com/, and for $89 on the day of the show at the box office in the Center for Performance near Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium. VIP tickets have sold out.
Several musical acts will perform, as well as DJ. Rappers and hip-hop artists include Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Twista, T.I. and the Ying Yang Twins.
Gates open at 2 p.m. with the Ying Yang Twins performing at 3 p.m. Luche Libre Wrestling (featuring featuring El Flaco Loco, a Lucha Xtreme world champion) is at 3:45 and 5 p.m. Other musical performances include Twista at 4:15 p.m., 2 Chainz at 6 p.m., Rick Ross at 8 p.m. and T.I. at 10 p.m.
Canton native and hip-hop artist Nicasso Turpin will perform at 4 p.m. as the featured local performer.
Wine, beer and premium tequilas will be served at the event. Food trucks also will be available. Vendors will be at the event selling clothing, accessories, apparel and custom jewelry.
Tacos & Tequila Music Fest is being presented by Capital International Group and Universal Attractions Agency. The nationwide festival has taken place in various forms in major cities throughout the United States, including most recently in Fresno, CA.

Metropolitan Opera artist at Mount Union
Eduardo Valdes, retired principal artist with The Metropolitan Opera, will return to his alma mater Friday and Saturday to present two free master classes at University of Mount Union.
Sessions will be at 7 p.m. in Presser Recital Hall at Cope Music Hall in the Giese Center for the Performing Arts, 67 W Simpson St., Alliance.
A past music major at Mount Union, Valdes was a member of numerous vocal and instrumental ensembles before discovering his passion for opera when asked to sing the part of Guglielmo in Mozart's Così fan tutte for an opera workshop scene program, according to a news release from Mount Union.
After earning his bachelor's degree in music from Mount Union, Valdes went to the Cleveland Institute of Music and Israel Vocal Arts Institute. He made his debut with The Metropolitan Opera during the 1993-1994 season and went on to be a principal artist for 26 years.
Valdes has performed on the Met stage in more than 37 productions and 692 performances. He retired from the Met in 2020.
Valdes is currently a teacher and technician at his own voice studio in New York City and Puerto Rico, the news release said. He has also taught at the Lindemann Young Artist Development Program at the Metropolitan Opera.
In 2015, The University of Mount Union honored Valdes by presenting him with an honorary doctorate in humane letters.
Bluesman Austin Walkin' Cane coming to Massillon
Bluesman Austin Walkin' Cane will perform at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 28 at Massillon Museum as part of the Rhythms concert series.
Playing original and classic Delta-style blues, the musical artist is known for his soulful vocals and slide guitar. Earlier this year, he released a 10-song album, "Musical Shoals," featuring the single, "Waiting for a Little Sunshine."
Doors open at 6 p.m. Galleries will remain open until the concert starts in Gessner Hall. A cash bar will be available. Tickets, $12 each or $10 per museum member, can be purchased at MassillonMuseum.org/Tickets or by phone at 330-833-4061.
Northeast Ohio-based musician Cody J. Martin will open the concert. Influenced by Johnny Cash, Tom Waits and Bob Dylan, Martin is both a guitar player and vocalist whose music crosses into blues, rock, folk and country. He's currently working on his third album.
Bublé, Manilow, Diamond, Joel tribute show
A tribute musical revue to Michael Bublé, Barry Manilow, Neil Diamond and Billy Joel will be Saturday night at La Pizzaria in Jackson Township.
Backed with a five-piece live band, three featured male vocalists will perform with two female background vocalists.
The cost of the dinner and show is $42.50 per person. VIP seating is $52.50. A cash bar is available. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. at La Pizzaria, 3656 Dressler Road NW.

Players Guild presents 'The Addams Family'
The Players Guild Theatre is presenting a stage version of the musical comedy "The Addams Family" through the end of September at Kent State University at Stark.
The show is described as a "comical feast that embraces the wackiness in every family." Directing the production is Steve Parsons with Joshua Erichsen handling the artistic producer and set design roles.
Performances will be in the Fine Arts Building at KSU at Stark, 6000 Frank Ave. NW. Tickets, $25 to $45, can be purchased online through Etix at https://www.etix.com/ticket/o/5234/players-guild-main-stage. The theatre can be reached at 330-244-3224.
Shows are at 7:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday, as well as on Sept. 29, Sept. 30 and Oct. 1.
Amy Grant at Canton Palace Theatre
Amy Grant will be performing on Friday at the Canton Palace Theatre.
Known for her No. 1 hit song "Baby, Baby," Grant is a former contemporary Christian artist who crossed over into mainstream pop music.
Doors open one hour before the 7:30 p.m. concert at the Palace Theatre, 605 Market Ave. N.
Grant's 1991 album, "Heart in Motion," also featured the hit songs, "Every Heartbeat," "Good for Me" and "That's What Love Is For."

Rat Pack tribute in Massillon featuring Dave Banks Big Band
Michael Sonata, Scott Brotherton and Stanley Davis will portray Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. in a "Rat Pack" tribute show at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Lions Lincoln Theatre, 156 Lincoln Way E.
The trio will be backed by the 16-piece Dave Banks Big Band.

New Wave Nation 25th anniversary concert
New Wave Nation, a popular '80s tribute band, will mark its 25th anniversary with a concert Saturday at the Canton Palace Theatre.
A frequent performer at summer and outdoor events in Stark County, the local band performs hit pop and rock songs from the '80s, including Toni Basil, the Stray Cats, Def Leppard, Michael Jackson and many others.
General admission tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show are $25 (including fee) and can be purchased at https://cantonpalacetheatre.org/ or at the door.
Quarry Artisan Market
The Quarry Artisan Market is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday at 6670 State St. NE in Nimishillen Township.
The market will be at a 45-acre scenic property with a Tudor and storybook-style home, rustic barn and quarry lake. Featuring about 40 vendors, the event includes artists and artisans, as well as live music, food, chocolates, baked goods and ice cream. Admission and parking are free.
Tommy Stinson at Buzzbin in Akron
Tommy Stinson, former bassist for alternative rock band The Replacements, will be in concert on Friday night at Buzzbin in Akron.
Stinson will be bringing his Cowboys in the Campfire musical project to Buzzbin, 952 Kenmore Blvd., which relocated from downtown Canton last year.
Cowboys in the Campfire, a duo of Stinson and Chip Roberts, released the 10-song album, "Wronger" earlier this year, featuring the single, "Dream." Sounds and influences include Americana, pop, folk, rockabilly and classic country.
Performing at Buzzbin will be a three-piece band also featuring Chops LaConte.
Emerging from the underground rock music scene of the 1980s, The Replacements also featured Paul Westerberg. Stinson, also a former member of Guns N' Roses, has a long solo career, including his band Bash & Pop, which released the albums, "Friday Night is Killing Me" in 1993 and "Anything Could Happen" in 2017.
