Take a Turkey to Work Day at Pueblo King Soopers

102 W. 29th St. and 3050 W. Northern Ave. | 6 a.m.-6 p.m. | The annual Take a Turkey to Work Day benefits Care and Share which is providing turkeys to partner food pantries to help those in need this Thanksgiving. Last year, through physical and monetary donations, Care and Share provided more than 12,000 turkeys to partner food pantries across Southern Colorado. All of the frozen turkeys collected Friday will be shared with pantries Saturday. If you can’t drop off a turkey in person, monetary donations can be made online at careandshare.org/turkey. Just $20 will help Care and Share get a turkey to a family in need.

Art Adventure Class at Rawlings Library

100 E. Abriendo Ave. | 1-3 p.m. | The Pueblo Arts Alliance will offer the free art class to children ages 7 to 12. All supplies are provided.

Project Angel Heart at Fuel & Iron Food Hall

400 S. Union Ave. | 4-9 p.m. | With a $5 donation to Project Angel Heart enjoy a small plate tour from the five restaurants, a free drink sponsored by Yellowstone Bourbon and bag decorating.

Survivors of Suicide event at Blo Back Gallery

131 Spring St. | 4-8 p.m. | The International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day event will feature an art exhibit, open mic for sharing and food trucks. The event is free and open to the public.

Saturday, Nov. 18

Holiday Craft and Vendor Fair at Shrine of St. Therese Parish Hall

300 Goodnight Ave. | 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Nov. 18 and 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Nov. 19 | Shop more than 30 local crafters and business booths. Food items for sale will include breakfast burritos, kielbasa sausage with sauerkraut, enchiladas and baked goods. Enter for a chance to win one of two $100 Walmart gift cards.

Holiday Craft Fair at First Congregational Church

228 W. Evans Ave. | 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. | Multiple vendors will offer holiday gifts plus baked goods, breakfast and lunch items will be available for purchase.

Lowriders of Pueblo at El Pueblo History Museum

301 N. Union Ave. | 10 a.m.-1 p.m. | During this collection day event historians are seeking photographs, artifacts, trophies, and memorabilia related to residents' treasured lowriders, viclas, and bikes. Items collected during the free event will serve as the groundwork for an upcoming exhibition highlighting the extraordinary work, artistry and culture behind lowriders.

'Mestizaje,' Spanish and Indigenous history program at Rawlings Library

Breakfast fundraiser at Our Lady of the Meadows

23 Starling Drive | 8:30-10:30 a.m. | The Knights of Columbus will serve up pancakes, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, green chile, coffee and orange juice in the church basement. Cost is $8 per person.

Drive-Through Food Distribution at Praise Church

2000 Troy Ave. north side parking lot | 11 a.m.-noon or as long as supplies last | The Care and Share food distribution will provide Thanksgiving meal items to families in need.

215 W. 10th St. | 5-7 p.m. music and food trucks, 7 p.m. lighting ceremony | Colton's Heroes and Brad Riccillo's Super Team will flip the big switch to light the courthouse as they bring awareness to childhood cancer non-profits in Pueblo. A family who has a child experiencing cancer has been invited to participate and private sponsors will give the family $1,000 to help pay for their Christmas celebration. Christian Jaquez will play music and several food trucks as well as first responder vehicles will participate. A fireworks and laser light show coordinated to holiday music will be included. For those who cannot attend, the event will be live streamed on the Pueblo County Facebook page starting at 6:15 p.m.

Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot at the YMCA of Pueblo

3200 E. Spaulding Ave. | 8:15 a.m. kids race, 9 a.m. adult race | The 15th annual Turkey Trot is a fundraiser for YMCA which enables local families in need to receive scholarships for the agency's programs. The free kids 1-kilometer event is for youth 12 and younger. No registration is required for the kids race. The adult 5K race costs $40 to enter and advance registration can be done online at runsignup.com/Race/CO/Pueblo/TurkeyTrotPueblo.

ElectriCritters kicks off at the Pueblo Zoo

3455 Nuckolls Ave. | 5:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, Saturday and Sunday and again Dec.1-3 | Experience more than 150 imaginative light displays on the walk-through animal-themed winter wonderland sponsored by Black Hills Energy. Visitors can warm up with cocoa and a cookie at the Candy Cane Café.

“It is so touching to know that ElectriCritters holds such a special place in so many families' hearts. People are constantly amazed and reminded every year how magical the experience is whether it is their first visit or their 20th," said Abbie Krause, executive director.

Cost is $9 for adults or $7 for children. Tickets are discounted $2 for members and all proceeds go to the care of the zoo's animals at a time when it is most needed. Purchase tickets online at pueblozoo.org/electricritters or at the gate.

Along Union starting at Colorado and Abriendo Avenues | 5:30 p.m. | The 33rd annual parade is themed "Winter Holidays Around the World." Festivive lights and heartwarming floats will be part of the fun highlighted by the debut of the Pueblo Downtown Express Train with Mr. & Mrs. Claus on board. The Parade Grand Marshall includes members of Pueblo's Sister Cities Commission and Honorary Parade Marshall is Patty Erjavec, president of Pueblo Community College. The Black Hills Energy-sponsored parade will continue from Union onto City Center Drive, along Main Street and north to Sixth Street. The parade wraps up on Sixth Street between Court and Grand. Parking for spectators is available in lots at Victoria and D streets, South Main and D streets near the Riverwalk, or on Third Street between Court and Grand.

Pueblo Stamp Club meeting at Rawlings Library

100 E. Abriendo Ave., Thurston Meeting Room | 1-2:30 p.m. | Topics will include how to use a perforation gauge, grading postage stamps and how to find a stamp’s value.  The meeting is free and open to the public.

'I'll be Home for Christmas' at Pueblo Memorial Hall

1 City Hall Place | Doors open at 7 p.m., show at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 30, Dec. 1 and Dec. 2 | This Musical Community Productions event features a heartwarming tale of family and hope set in the golden age of radio.
