Jackson’s and Julia

Tuesday, Aug. 15. Jackson's Steakhouse, 400 S. Palafox St. In celebration of famed chef Julia Child’s 111th birthday, Jackson’s Steakhouse will be offering special features for a Jackson's and Julia dinner service in her honor. Child was America’s first, although fairly reluctant, food celebrity. She adamantly insisted that she wasn’t a “chef,” Child nonetheless single-handedly changed the way we think about food in this country. Bands on the Beach

7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15. Gulfside Pavilion at Casino Beach, Pensacola Beach. Pensacola Beach's popular outdoor summer concert series with performers for every musical taste. Featuring a lineup of regional artists, Bands on the Beach delivers an eclectic musical experience throughout the entire summer. This week features Class X. Palafox St. The Hiding Place relates the true story of Corrie ten Boom who, together with her sister, Betsie, and father, Casper, hid Jews in their home during the Nazi occupation of Holland in World War II. The dynamic cast is comprised of local performers of all ages, including Angel Award-winning singer Alisha Burke (Best Performing Artist, 2021) and singer and recording artist James Strasburg. Saenger Summer Movie Series

7 p.m. Friday, Aug 18. Saenger Theatre, 118 S. Palafox St. This week’s Saenger Summer Movie Series feature will be National Lampoon's Animal House. Animal House is a 1978 American comedy film about a trouble-making fraternity whose members challenge the authority of the dean of the fictional Faber College. The film was directed by John Landis and written by Harold Ramis, Douglas Kenney and Chris Miller. Little Wars

Jefferson St. Little Wars is an acclaimed all-female drama is set in a country home in the French Alps during the second World War. A unique dinner party unites celebrated writers Agatha Christie, Lillian Hellman, Dorothy Parker, Gertrude Stein and Alice B. Toklas, along with a mysterious guest. The Menzingers

Palafox St. Since forming as teenagers in 2006, The Menzingers have shown their strength as rough-and-tumble storytellers, turning out songs equally rooted in frenetic energy and lifelike detail. On their new album Hello Exile, the Philadelphia-based punk band take their lyrical narrative to a whole new level and share their reflections on moments from the past and present: high-school hellraising, troubled relationships, aging, alcohol and political ennui.
